Doors of Oman

The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live.
(Flora Whittemore)
Happiness is something that comes into our lives through doors we don't even remember leaving open.
(Rose Wilder Lane)
Close some doors. Not because of pride, incapacity, or arrogance, but simply because they no longer lead somewhere.
(Paulo Coelho)
Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls.
(Joseph Campbell)

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.
(Helen Keller)

Doors and quotes ... two of my favorite things.
Wherever we go in the world, I am always taking pictures of doors.
These images are all from our recent trip to Oman.
The stairs above are what led us to the huge wooden door on the right.  We weren't able to venture inside the fort as it is apparently being renovated.
Below is the beautiful view of Muscat port from the top.
Today my guest post appears on The Moksi Homes (rather than Saturday as originally planned).  Now when I look at the pictures, I see that I forgot to remove some items that don't belong or to straighten things up.  Oh well!  Maureen told me just to be myself, write as I would talk and keep it real.  That's really all I know to do.
Wishing you a wonderful week!

These are some lovely quotes to go along with your beautiful door photos. Such a pretty little harbor at the end ... odd to see not one boat in the harbor. I'm off to read your other post now. Have a great week Tammy :) Wendy x

Beautiful photos of doors and I do love the harbor too.

I much prefer "real" blogs. Probably because my own is so imperfect that I like knowing the other blogs I read have people writing them that have their own foiables.

Blessings,
Betsy

What lovely doors and quotes. Very meaningful post, as my dearest and I are facing some open and closed doors. Appreciate your prayers.

You're looking so pretty! I like doors too. Probably windows better though. You can always escape through a window, I've learned!

I thought maybe you had gone to Dubai for the New Year's fireworks as evidently they have the best in the world.
The doors are beautiful and each so unique. I forgot to comment on your dish cloths you're making...I love mine that you sent me! I'm going to slowly replace the store bought with hand made...they're wonderful!
What a beautiful spot on earth you visited....there's so much beauty in the world and thank you for sharing places and things I would never have an opportunity to see otherwise...that is a gift in itself.

This is a lovely post Tammy, so true about the doors. Sometimes we try too hard with everything and maybe we should just allow things to happen.

If I had climbed all those stairs, I think I would have just sat at the top and waited for the renovations to be complete! ;)
You choose such thought-provoking quotes, Tammi. The Helen Keller quote especially resonates with me - I think it is time to read her books again. Thank you!
