Busy Days

I have been a busy bee of late.  From kitty rescues to shopping with a 13-year old who has grown out of all his summer clothes, to satellite repairs, a going away dinner and end of year concert, days have been crazy busy.
Last night was Zack's last band concert of the year.  The 7th grade band was good, the 8th graders were great and the high school band fantastic.  It's so amazing to actually hear the growth through the different levels.  Zack is in his second year of band.
The guy with the beret is Mark Powers who was here for 2 weeks working with the students.  He is a friend of our band directors, a husband and wife team, and a professional percussion artist/educator who travels the world learning the drumming of different cultures.  He uses his skills to educate students and work with adults in rhythm-based corporate leadership/teambuilding workshops and correctional facilities.

Our days have been mostly clear and beautiful, but last night's sunset was a bit cloud-covered.
The moon is in its crescent phase now with the Full Flower Moon to arrive on May 5th-6th.  Before blogging, I never realized the phases of the moon, but now I find it all so amazing and wonderful.
I hope you have had a great week.  Wishing you all the best for a wonderful weekend.

Oh how I love those school concerts. :) They're one of my most favorite events. Your son looks great performing and how wonderful that this mentor helped the students with their musical studies.

This is Sarah's Prom weekend - she's only a soph but she goes with a Junior so... PROM. Exciting times.

Hope you enjoy a nice weekend. Mine begins in just a few hours.

I used to love the school concerts, too! Some were really painful but the pride on the kids' faces as they performed before their parents and friends was priceless! Love the photo through the palms! Joan

I remember the days of my daughter being in high school band. They were selected to march in the Rose Parade one year and that was amazing. You sound so happy enjoying this time and all it offers. I too love the moon and its many phases. Blessings Tammy.

You have been busy! Interesting activities too. This time of year is very busy for farmers, gardeners, teachers and students and so many more. My workload doubles in the Spring but I love it. It rained here this morning and looks like more showers so I am getting some inside work done. I'm in the sewing mood big time! But miles to go before I sew. LOL! Have a great, peaceful and joy filled weekend!

Your Zack is growing up so fast!

I used to love the band concerts at the school and always hoped that one of them would do something with their talent! heeeee

You are winding down for a much needed rest. Where did that year go? So fast.

We're back and I'm washing....I think the dirty clothes 'clone' themselves in the duffel bags! ech

Have a great rest of today. I'm headed to the library to get something to read tonight. Hope I can keep my peepers open since we are still tired.

Hugs

Hi Tammy....That's nice that Zack is in the band. I think music is one of life's greatest joys.

You know what? Had to chuckle at how crazy busy you've been. It's been the same around here. Man oh manachevitz. It's like go, go, go non-stop.

One of these days I'm just going to STAY HOME.

Hope you have a terrific weekend. Susan

Lovely Tammy!

I did not know the May Moon had such a pretty name! I will think of you across the miles when I look up at it in May
(always makes me think of Fivel the Mouse singing "Somewhere out there beneath the big blue sky.......")

Happy Weekend to you and yours

I so enjoy seeing children performing musically. Playing an instrument is not only creative, it's so good for the soul. My granddaughter sings beautifully. She has been promoted twice in this freshman year of high school so is now in the senior chorus.....we are so proud of her achievement.

Sing, play..........life is always better with music.......and a beautiful moon!

You certainly have been busy, Tammy. Well done to Zack. How nice that Mark Powers spent time to work with the students.

We've had a couple of rainy days here...and today, it's sunshine one minute, overcast the next so it can't seem to make up its mind.

I like the different moon phases too. Great pics!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Serena xo

Hi Sweetie...
Oh what a beautiful share. I love seeing young people involved in band. It is such a great thing for them. They learn to find themselves through musical notes. (our little grand daughter has played her violin for 4 years)

I love seeing the gorgeous moon. What a beautiful crescent moon. I had no idea there were phases either. I will have to read up on this.

Have a glorious weekend sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

All of my end of year events with Jake are starting and they are my "last evers"! Jake is graduating and there will never be anymore grade school events! I'm going to savor them!

it just isn't fair. You take gorgeous photos and your posts read like something from a novel. I could sit and read and reread your blog all day...except for work...and family...and housework...and...and...and!
