Lagging

Over the weekend I crocheted a Grandma All Round and Grandma Heart from patterns found at The Royal Sisters.

Two flowers from a pattern found at Happy in Red.

My favorite doily pattern from Crochet Galore that really does only take 30 minutes to make.

A dishcloth from the new cotton I bought on Saturday.

And another jar cover.

When my kids try to play Xbox and the internet connection is slow, they complain about "lagging". Sometimes I feel like I am lagging in real life. There are days that I get home from school and I don't want to do a thing. Actually, I want to do many things, but because I feel so scattered, I can't decide where to start, so I do nothing at all.

Doing nothing is better than being busy doing nothing. Lao Tzu (Chinese taoist Philosopher, founder of Taoism; 600 BC-531 BC)

Ever have days like that?

I've' been lagging lately too. It happens and being women, we tend to beat ourselves up over it, but the older we get, we should allow our self some down time....we deserve it.

have a great week tammykins

Don't you just love how that butchers the English language??

Doesn't look like you are "lagging" in your crochet work! Sometimes doing nothing is just the medicine we need to get our motivation back on track. I call it "vegging". :-)

Looks like you've actually been doing something! :-) Lovely projects. Now I will go do some more of nothing. ;-)

lovely crocheting !!!
I don't do very well in the heat...our July was so hot and unbearable...I did lots of lounging just to survive

as Mom's I think it is easy to notice the things we aren't doing sometimes and good to notice what all we do accomplish :)

thank you for sharing the delicious sounding and looking recipes below!

Yes, yes I have days like that! Lots of them. But you dear, do A LOT - look at all of these wonderful things you are always creating! :)

I was always an organized sort with productive lists of things to do - but I've lagged in that department. I'm still organized at work, but at home, I often find it difficult to focus on what it is that I want to accomplish, and so instead of doing anything, I just go to bed.

Hope you have a great remainder of the week. :)

Sometimes lagging is the best thing to do ... rest and refresh. You're usually one busy, busy lady so I think its a good thing. What wonderful crochet you have done and I'm always so glad that you love my little doily ... have a wonderful, blessed week dear one.

Yes I do have days like that and for the very same reason. I think our minds just get boggled from all we have to do. I wouldn't say you're "lagging" though, you really created a bunch of beautiful things. Diane

Oh yes can I relate to "lagging". Now I know what to call those times. Your crocheting is wonderful. I can see the flowers with a ribbon in them to tie and give them a sort of ruffle fullness. Happy Wednesday to you...

Honey, never heard of lagging before, but that's because English isn't my first language, I think I know what you mean though...plenty of days like that, like nothing comes out of my hands, besides the normal stuff but nothing creative......

A very belated reply to your comment on my blog - I've been blog MIA for the last three weeks - I can't believe you've been to Nepal! I've always dreamed of going there, I'm going to go look up your photos....

Malaysia was amazing, I recommend it. We were in Langkawi (photos to follow, I'm still on Indonesia at the moment), and if you think of going, definitely stop by - it's a little island near the Thai border.....

Looks like you have been busy with all your adorable projects you did this past weekend. :)

I know what you mean when you get off work and there are a million things to be done and yet you kind of spin your wheels...and of course you are tired, too.

I like you idea you left on my blog about it staying Spring. That works to me! :)

Blessings aways :)

Your crochet pieces are beautiful. I'm thinking of finding something to crochet during our drive across the country in October. It's been quite awhile since I crocheted anything big (or small for that matter).

I too understand the scattered feeling. I'm attempting to get myself organized. I've spent the past two weeks working in the garage organizing boxes and getting things ready for a garage sale. Hopefully I'll feel more together with a clean garage and work space.

I think your granny round would take me much longer than 30 minutes to make. I have days where I don't know where to start... just pick a spot and go, that's what you would tell me chicky! :)
love!

Hi Tammy,

I feel exactly the same way - sometimes I find if I write things down that I have to do and then tick the things off the list.
You have been really busy though with all your crocheting. Hope the weather has cooled down a little for you.

Hugs
Carolyn

Wait until you retire, if you ever do. Spending the day doing only what you feel like doing can give one a real guilt trip.

Love your crochet pieces. I want to learn how to do that. :)

I love your crochet! I'm just learning, and only know how to make a flower. (a few posts back) I can't believe that only takes 30min! I love the jar cover too.
