Crafting Along the Way

I always carry crochet with me when I travel. While in the airport or on the plane, I am quite happily crocheting the time away.

These pretty little pouches are perfect for holding all sorts of treats. I made Mexican Wedding Cookies the other day; wrapped a few up and placed them in pouches as gifts. Handmade is heartmade.

Last Tuesday while in Paris, hubby went off to take care of business, so the kids and I had the whole day to wander the city.

I stumbled across a wonderful embroidery shop called Le Bonheur des Dames which means The Ladies Paradise. You can check out their website here.

There were so many beautifully framed stitched pieces hanging on the walls of the store.

Two cross-stitch books and two little rolls of material came home with me.

The bigger book is filled with 1100 patterns for motifs, borders and ornaments which are taken from pre-1930's design sources. I think I will be doing some stitching this weekend.

Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday. Friendship blessings, Tammy

Last night I dreamed I was in Paris, it was a short little dream and I was trying to buy groceries but was upset that I could not tell how much things cost. Weird right? Last night I finished a scraf I was working on, I crocheted the ends together so it is a infinity scarf.
hugs to you!

You are so lucky to have that book!
I also carry crochet with me everywhere I go - I must be a strange sight to some people, but honestly, I don't care!

Your little crocheted pouch is perfect and I love your saying..."Handmade is Heartmade". That is how my family raised us girls. We always make our gifts to one another. The time and thought we put into the gift is far more loving than any amount of money can buy. Ahhh Paris...enjoy enjoy enjoy my dear!

I am sooo far behind in visiting everyone, and it looks like I missed out on some fantastic posts of your trip to Paris!! Wow, you were only a few hours from me!! I love Paris and it has been some time since we were there last. Seeing all your photos makes me want to go back again and see it all, especially the flea markets. We have talked for years of wanting to go, but life just seems to get in the way. :-)
I am thrilled for you that you had the chance to go and see it all.

Hi Tammy, looks like you had a great trip! I used to do a lot of cross-stitching and still have several patterns I want to do one of these days. As it happens one of them is called Fleurs de Paris and it's very pretty. The embroidery shop looked like a great little find! I too love the little "Handmade" saying.

Very cute little pouches, Tammy! I recently crocheted little purses that will be for my granddaughters for Christmas. When I get them lined, I will probably post about them.

I love Mexican Wedding Cookies. My best friends mom used to make them when we were kids.

Thank you for your encouraging words about my mom :)

What a great few days Tammy. I'm off to London in November for a few days cat sitting at my sons house. I love to spend a week in London on my own, I can explore all the shops and galleries. I have to take some stitching to do while the cat sits on my lap.
Cookies in a pouch, that's for me!!
Hugs, Angela.

Oh my, Tammy. Do you speak French? Do the shop people in Paris speak English? I think I would have a hard time making a purchase. Good for you crocheting all the time. Take care. Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.cm
