It's About Time

In May, I joined Nathalie Thompson at An Artist's Legacy for Tea on Tuesday. At the time, she was having a giveaway and planned to choose two winners that would be announced the following week.

Turns out, she had no way of getting in touch with winner #2 and my name was chosen as the runner up. I don't usually join giveaways because the mail system here is very unreliable and very corrupt.

Case in point: Nathalie mailed the envelope to me on June 10th and I just received it today. Her card says: If you are reading this then it means that my cards made it through customs. Yippee!

Yes, Nathalie, they finally arrived. Both card designs were a limited run and were created by her in a workshop while she worked at Hallmark Cards.

Thank you so much Nathalie! I'm glad your cards finally made it. Wouldn't it be interesting to know what this one envelope has been through in the past 3-1/2 months?

I hope you are all having a terrific Thursday. Our weekend has begun, so it's a double Yippee over here. Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

Wow, 3 1/2 months, that is so unreal! I guess it's great that the internet goes faster, can you imagine her waiting another 3 1/2 months for a thank you? That's like going back a couple hundred years!

Nice cards, btw!

How fun to get something wonderful in the mail. I guess that's something we take for granted, good mail service. I'm thankful that ours is as good as it is.

Enjoy your weekend. So glad your Happy Mail finally arrived. Maybe it took the "Slow Boat to China" before arriving on your doorstep. Congratulations on your selection for the prize.

Dearest Tammy,

I had no idea that the mail service was that bad in your area! When we lived in Italy it was unpredictable and also in Indonesia certain letters never made it to us... They would even tear off the stamps and toss away the letter! So we got smarter and requested metered mail only to avoid at least that part. Glad you got it! Mail is always a thrill and for you a sunshine in your day. Not that you lack sunshine but the other meaning of it of course...
Love to you,

Mariette

Oh what a fabulous gift you received!!!
Whenever I send a purchase from my Etsy shop i have to fill in the domestic customs control and I pray to God that it doesn't get detained for too long. Until I hear from the customer that it has arrived I feel like on needles and pins.
I also had a swap with a blog friend in Belgium - she got mine in a week; I waited for hers for more than a month. It got detained in the customs (there was a customs seal on it). If it was sent on horse it would have arrived sooner. So if any of the customs people are reading this, please, please check and release our gifts sooner :)

Have a nice week Tammy!

Hi Tammy- that is an incredible story--- if only that little envelope could talk! Your friend makes beautiful cards- they are pretty enough to frame!!

Last year I mailed one of my nests to Russia- she won it in one of my contests. It took that package about 2 months to get there! It is really amazing--

Xoxo,
Vicki
