Walk With Me

Hubby has started walking here again in the evenings but I just can't psyche myself up for walking in 120 degree heat. One of our excursions in Nepal was to walk through an old city and then an hour long walk through the countryside. It was the first day without any rain but there was still a lot of mud to contend with as we made our way through the rice paddy fields, plus a few delays and detours along the way.

Enjoy the scenery (there's lots to see)!

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir

If you are walking to seek, ye shall find. ~Sommeil Liberosensa

There is nothing like walking to get the feel of a country. A fine landscape is like a piece of music; it must be taken at the right tempo. Even a bicycle goes too fast. ~Paul Scott Mowrer, The House of Europe

Make your feet your friend. ~J.M. Barrie

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. ~John Muir

A vigorous five-mile walk will do more good for an unhappy but otherwise healthy adult than all the medicine and psychology in the world. ~Paul Dudley White

Your body is built for walking. ~Gary Yanker

Walking: the most ancient exercise and still the best modern exercise. ~Carrie Latet

An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day. ~Henry David Thoreau

Dear Tammy, How nice, after taking you on my green, well-watered walk in the Dales to now be able to enjoy your sun filled walk - and in bare feet too - just lovely!

Dearest Tammy, what an interseting blog you have! I am your latest follower.

Thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog about my wonderful cat Gibson . It really was on of the hardest decisions, and you are right, there does come a point where you have to weigh up the pain and discomfort they are in, and your wish to keep them with you at all costs.Ultimately, they should basically be comfortable at least and poor Gibson was really getting more and more ill with no chance of improvement.
Thank you again - I can't tell you how much your comments help.XOXO .Bea

Thanks for taking me along on your walk, Tammy. There were so many interesting things to see and I also enjoyed the quotes you chose to go along with the pictures. It makes me feel like I need to quit making excuses and get out there and take a real walk :). If your hubby can do it in 120 degree heat, then I should be able to do it in our 90 degree heat.

Oh, the Places You'll Go ~Dr. Seuss. What amazing things you see -- lucky girl! Do you think you could get me a couple of those baskets?????? We're supposed to hit 100 today -- can't even imagine what 120 must feel like (not do I want to). Enjoy your air-conditioning & happy Sunday! Jan

Now that would be worth taking a walk for.
Beautiful pictures of the life there. Don't know if I would have enjoyed the mud, but somehow I bet your boys did.
Thanks for all the inspiring quotes about walking. They almost made me want to take a walk...well almost.

Tammy, So nice to read your comments today! I have really missed blogging for a couple of months and am glad to be back in the swing of it.
Your pictures are wonderful. I loved this post with all the sweet quotes and the refreshing GREEN! It must be so great for you all to get out of the desert and see all these wonderful places! I don't think I'd survive 126 degrees! Stay in PJ mode, it's gotta be the most comfy!
Take care friend!

Wonderful walk. I can see why the boys of Nepal were so full of life and freedom as they lead us on our venture the other day, here in Winooski, VT. There natural surroundings appear to be safer than ours are in the U.S., in a different sort of way. I liked this. Nicely shared, T.!!!

I enjoyed talking a walk with you :) Thank you for sharing. I 100% understand heat. I live just outside Phoenix, AZ. We had a couple weeks of 115+ weather, hottest day was 122. I thought I was going to die on our evening walks from heat stroke or something, Lol. Thankfully we are back to our normal 105-110 weather. Which I still have a hard time thinking that is normal since I grew up the Pacific Northwest in both Southern Washington as a kid and Northern Seattle as a Soldier, were normal was 65 and rainy :) Hope you get relief soon. T-storms are brewing here, hopefully we get a nice cool down. Ill send some your way if I can :) _B

Hi Tammy,

What beautiful pictures. What a hard life, but fulfilling I bet. More people should realize the blessings and good fortune they have and not complain so much. Hard work is good for the soul.

Can you tell I'm tired? My comment doesn't make much sense. Have a wonderful day tomorrow, blog friend.
