Simple Pleasures: One Small Bloom

With temperatures above 110 every day, I thought my moss roses had finished their blooming season, but yesterday morning this one tiny flower popped out to say hello.

"If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.” Buddha quotes (Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C.)

That is truly a miracle! The last photo you showed us of the plants on your balcony (after your trip) they all looked quite cooked! A joyful discovery to be sure!

Tammy,
I just love little surprises like that - it's as if God wants to leave a little "note" for us to enjoy on that particular day. Love your Simple Pleasure and you blog. I feel for you all enduring that terrible heat.

Those are some unbelievable temperatures happening all over the world this summer. You are much like me, seeing the beauty in the every day and in the simple things that life has to offer us. I see the lush green around me, caused by lots of rain, but oh so beautiful, or the rainbows we have been blessed with due to that rain. Love the quote, and the sentiment behind your post! Just lovely. I hope you are having a great day, and inspite of that heat, staying as cool as possible. thinking of you from afar, Debby

What a surprise indeed! Since yesterday we've finally some nicer summer wheather here in the Netherlands. It has rained so much! My new plants in the garden are almost drowned.
But well, that's nature!

I also take joy out of the single blossom on the plant. Each is like a gift.

Hi Tammy,

It's so nice to meet you. And so glad you came by my blog and left me a comment. I've looked through the first two pages of your blog and have enjoyed looking at photos of places so very far away from me. I guess that's another reason why I love to blog. Meeting people all around the world is wonderful.

On a note about crocheting. I've been crocheting for almost 21 years. You are on the right track with it I can tell....because it's shown in so many of your posts..You have a great love for it. I view it as a great meditation..it really calms me and lets me think clearly.

I'm going to become a follower of yours and I'd love you to follow me too. ♥

Pink Sparkles for your week,
Stephanie Suzanne ♥

Isn't this so true, Tammy! Hope you've been coping well with all that extreme heat. I hope you get to England sometime. I'm sure your trip to Paris at the end of August will be fantastic (I lived there for three years while a grad student in the early 90's).

Would you believe that I am finally getting tired of summer weather? It's true. I've been saying it daily now and you know that I love the heat, normally. But we haven't had real rain in 2 months - the grass is like straw, it's hot and sunny every day, and this is the time in the growing season, where even though my garden looks pretty, because I water every day, it's just all looking a little tired. I'm feeling tired. Yes, I'm even thinking towards Fall. Not all of the time of course, and no - I'm not looking forward to the start of the school year - but I am feeling tired.

Your moss rose is pretty. :)
