In the Clouds

When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator. (Mohandas Gandhi)

I took the following photos within seconds of each other, looking left and right from the airplane as we traveled to Nepal on the 29th. A magnificent show of colors and changing sky.

To the left ...

To the right the clouds look like mountains...

We left Kuwait at 9:30 am and arrived in Kathmandu at 10:30 pm. Time there is 2 hours and 45 minutes ahead.

This is the back view of The Yak & Yeti where we stayed. A 100 year old palace has been converted to a casino, restaurants and conference center with this part of the hotel being an extension that was built and opened in 1977.

Our view from the second floor was ever changing too.

We were literally in the clouds while there. Nepal has more than 8,000 mountain peaks and 8 out of 10 of the world's highest peaks. No wonder it is considered the top of the world.

Sending wishes for a wonderful new week! Friendship blessings, Tammy

The photos are beautiful. Being that I'm quite sure I'll never visit there, it's enjoyable to view your pictures and take a "mini break". :)

Speaking of breaks, I'm taking an indefinite break from blogging/facebooking. I have numerous reasons, and I'll simply say that since I've done so, my husband and I go on walks and bike rides every single evening, and I'm remembering all that I missed out on because of my computer addiction. Life is good.

Hi Tammy!
Great to read about your trip, Nepal is one of the countries on my still to visit list. I know it from photo's from my inlaws, they have been there four times, walking in those amazing mountains. I love your 'mountain cloud' photo, so cool! Thanks for always leaving me such nice comments, I leave for our holiday on the 18th of July till the 12 of august, see you soon! Maureen x

How interesting to see the old Palace as a hotel....with a pool!

The scenery is so pretty in Nepal. It seems that you had a couple of nice days before the rains came.

Oh, dear...your bus trip story was frightening! I'd be panic stricken knowing that the roads were in such condition....we hear about that on the news but to be there in the midst of slides must have been scary.

Stay safe this week! Any new vacation plans or are you home for the summer now?

Hugs

Your family holiday looked to be awesome! I enjoyed your pictures and descriptions. A friend from Oregon went to Napal late last spring --- she LOVED it! She went as part of a mountain hiking expedition and spent a lot of time training before she went.

Congratulations on two years of blogging!

This is how I felt on my vacation (which I posted about today) - like I had my head in the clouds the whole time (in a good way) :)

Love your photos (and the song you have playing to along with them.) Blessings!

Dearest Tammy,

With such beautiful skies and wonderful nature, one wonders why in the world they need to have a 'casino' in paradise?!

Lots of love,

Mariette
