Friday Out and About

Pajama days are not allowed on Friday since it is hubby's only full day off of work.

We headed out to a restaurant complex that sits right next to The Kuwait Towers.

These trees are a welcome sight and shade the way (at the end there's an Applebee's), but the kids don't like to eat there.

Seafood, Italian or Japanese?

Of course, we chose the latter.

This is the third week in a row that we've been to a different Japanese restaurant.

Creme brulee and green tea for dessert.

It's 5:30 pm and hubby is heading out into 113 degree heat for a walk. More power to him! I plan to stay cool with crochet hook in hand.

Hope you have a fabulous Friday! Friendship blessings, Tammy

Oh, wise one. Heading out for a little snack at the mall sound perfect. And so does staying back from a walk in the heat. FYI- It's pouring here...finally. Yipee, no watering today. That gives me more hookie time.

Hi Tammy: Your lifestyle is so different from mine and looks quite intriguing. We do share a common link in crocheting. I prefer to do mine in the winter as the warmth of the yarn is so welcome in my lap. Wonderful weekend to you...

Japanese on a (very) hot day sounds delicious! And a crochet hook in favor of a (very) hot walk would be my choice as well. Your Friday family days sound lovely!

Do you ever get used to that intense heat? I really want to know! And I wish I was a little bit more adventurous with my restaurant choices, because that food looks delicious!

Ugh! I don't know how he can walk in that heat!! Although I did walk two blocks and back in 100 degrees the other day. it's beginning to be the norm here :(

Very sensible Tammy but I do admire your husband. It's cool and showery here in England,
I'm hoping for better weather next weekend when my daughter comes to visit for a few days.

Hi Tammy, Thanks for your visit! We are worlds apart. Here we have had a cool rainy summer so far. But I love sushi!!! A wise choice. I love visiting your blog and traveling through your eyes to places I shall probably never get to see. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.

Hey, we're only a few degrees behind you here where it's been actual temps of low 100s this week with heat indexes of 120. I'm loving it though we can't really use the pool right now because the water temp is 99. :P Maybe this weekend....

The food looks pretty, but none of us in my family like that kind of food or will eat it. Japanese to us - is the Kamakura Restaurant in Champaign where we love the teppanyaki. Just a mix of chicken and vegetables. :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Linda

Dearest Tammy,

That was a yummy lunch you got and I too would have opted for the Japanese! The tree-shaded area looks so beautiful in that setting. Why don't they use more irrigation in that part of the world? Looks like the Jewish are the only people turning dessert into fertile land! Why don't they work more with desalinated seawater? They all got the money to do it. But guess the natives are no gardeners as they always use immigrants from Indonesia and such for the work. Our driver in Indonesia and his wife did work in Kuwait before they worked for us and when we left, they went back to Kuwait after the Gulf War was over.
Enjoy your Saturday and Sunday and lots of love,

Mariette

I just noticed that our thermometer says 103. We New Englanders have to be a hardy lot because 6 months from now that same thermometer could say -10. At least where you are the temps are pretty consistent, just plain hot all the time. Really don't know how you cope with it. Is it a "dry" heat or do you have humidity along with those gawd awful temps?

I wish I could send you some of our winter coolness. Well done to your hubby for not letting the heat stop him but I think I would have opted to stay home and crochet too.

Seafood would probably have been my choice, Japanese running a close second. ;)

Have a beautiful weekend,
Serena xo

We are opposites I refuse to do homework or cleaning or anything on my Fridays :) After a 32hrs of school work crammed into 4 days I need the break. Today is 108, so we played in the sprinklers and turned the grass into a lake! Fingers crossed we didnt damage it any. Looks like you had a wonderful day off too. Never had Japanese before. Maybe for mine & hubs next date night? I love love your tree picture. So gorgeous!! Hope you Enjoy the rest of your weekend _B

It's been in the high 20's here in Atlantic Canada which feels plenty hot to me! I can't imagine how you can breathe in your heat. Perspective is everything. :-)

Hi Tammy......first off.....thanks for all your recent visits. We are finally in a permanent spot so computer issues should be much less and I will be able to visit all of you.

I've alway thought it a little strange to have all these various foreign restaurants in a foreign country...but that is just me. LOL LOL

Hope you enjoyed your sushi.

Tammy, sounds like a perfect day out and about, good food and time with the family. Just my kind of day. And the food looked great, especially that creme brulee for dessert. I have been thinking of you alot since the other night when a show was on tv showing sights and sounds of Nepal. I may not have watched the whole thing through other wise, but knowing that you had just been there made me stayed GLUED to the tv set, wanting to see all the details. I kept pointing to things saying to DH, look, that is just like a place that Tammy saw and posted about. Or, I wonder if Tammy met people like that along their way. And so went the whole show. What an enjoyable hour show, especially because I knew someone who had been there and seen if all for themselves. I hope you have a great weekend. ~Debby

Hi Tammy!

I'm hungry for some o' dat!

I think I'd stay cool with crochet too!
My usual walks have come to a hault because of our extreme heat too...but now worries! I've always got some creative project on the go...and this time, it's a paintbrush I am holding!

ciao bella

Hi Tammy, The sushi and the creme brulee look very delicious and so do your cookies of your last post.
There is no way that I'd take a walk at such temperatures. The weather here makes me stay in too. It's cool and rainy. I turned the heat on this morning.

Julia

Oh my gosh - the sushi picture is fabulous (and I don't even eat sushi!). Yummy creme brulee too. How do you even go out in 113 degree temperatures? I can't even imagine. By the way, I love all the travel photos on your side bar. You've had some great trips!
Sharon :-)
