Flora and Fauna

This is the very sad view from my balcony now. All my plants died while we were in Nepal and the neighbor across the street sold his house; the new owner had it demolished this past week, I'm assuming to rebuild.

It is always a wonderful thing to leave behind a desert country where temperatures can reach 120 and above (126 yesterday) to visit a country rich in biodiversity. The flora and fauna of Nepal is much more varied than any other area in Asia. From grasslands and jungles, to farmlands, forests and mountains high, there was much beauty to be seen (and a few creatures to surprise us along the way).

If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive. ~Eleonora Duse

Hope you are having a fabulous Friday! Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

I am going to quit complaining about 100 degree weather when you are dealing with 125!!

This song makes me tear up....Louis Armstrong was my mom and dad's favorite! I love this song.....it truly is a "wonderful world"

How sad to come home to dead plants and such a house gone across the street. Hope what they build adds beauty to your view. I enjoyed your Safari pictures (as close as I will come to one) and the pictures here today. I always enjoy visiting your blog. I can see and learn more about a world so far away. I visit here as often as possible. Thanks for your input on my blog and a visit always follows a comment on my blog. Yours is one of my favorites.
Sorry to hear about the hot weather. Next time I complain about 100-105, I'll think of you and stop complaining.
Great quote too.

Beautiful photos. Yes, such a contrast from where you life. I'm sorry your plants died. I can imagine because even here I have to water mine every day to keep them looking great in the heat.

Happy weekend :)

Dearest Tammy,

Well, so glad you got so many lovely memories and pictures. That can almost block out the 'temporarily' sight from your balcony.
What a lush paradise you were in! Love those images.
And to top it off with a writing from Eleonora Duse did it for me! She lived in the area where we lived in Italy and actually her home is changed into a hotel in Asolo. Such rich culture!

Lots of love and hope you manage the barren and the heat.

Oh Tammy - you have taken your children on an incredible journey. Your photos are amazing - from the elephants to the little people who live there - you have shared an amazing story of a different world. I cannot imagine what it must have been like for you all to experience this grand adventure. I am going to come back and pour over these photos again when I have more time - they are like a National Geographic story. Amazing my friend!

I feel your sadness at the sight you are now greeted with from your balcony...sorry about the plants dying. Quite a contrast to the lush, green jungles of Nepal.

'What a Wonderful World' always brings tears to my eyes too...beautifully sung by Louis Armstrong. I also enjoyed the rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow song. Nice music choices, Tammy. :)

LOVED your pics!

Have a lovely weekend,
