Textiles and Textures

After seeing block printing on fabric and the process of handmade wool carpets

we were taken into the textiles showroom.

You have to admire women who can wear a sari and keep it on the whole day long.

Although we didn't buy a wool rug or a sari, we did come home with many beautiful scarves ...

My husband thought I bought this one to wear,

but I decided it looked great at the foot of our bed.

I will change out the white bedspread for this quilt in October or November when I do some Fall decorating.

And this shawl will also be used in the Fall decorating as a throw over a chair in the living room.

Last weekend I cleaned and rearranged the entire living room. The quilt on the couch also came back with us.

I'm thankful it is the weekend again. As always, cleaning is on the agenda and I hope to get motivated to do a little something crafty as I haven't made anything in weeks. Maybe I'll find some paint and try out my little wooden print blocks.

Sending good thoughts and best wishes your way! Peace & blessings, Tammy

Beautiful!!

What's the weather like there now? Here we're having record breaking heat again, even though it's the first day of Autumn. :)

That sari looks pretty good on you. I'm not surprised that you came home with so many scarves and I was fortunate to get one of them. I love the look of your bedroom and just wish I could get my bed to look as half as appealing. You sure have a way of putting things together, even arranging your living room. Don't know how many times you have switched it, but it looks great everytime.

That's so beautiful layered on the couch like that. I keep saying I'm getting around to some crafts. Yesterday I was telling myself I needed to get some cans emptied and spray-paint them as you did some time ago. (It was you, wasn't it? Menopausal woman here.)

You look beautiful in the sari, but you're right, I couldn't imagine wearing one all day long. My first grade teacher used to wear one once in awhile to school. I remember thinking they were so beautiful. Of course I adored her :-)

Marcia

Too bad you did not get to come home with a rug or a sari (you look fantastic in it). What a statement you would make wearing that to work one day...
The scarves are beautiful, and I love your decorating ideas that came with them. Your place has changed SO much since I was in Kuwait. It looks really good. You have a great decorating sense. Now that I am close enough, I must come and see for myself!!
Enjoy the weekend. I am not sure what we will do here, but happy for no alarm clock!!
Love ya,
Renee

Tammy...Blessing back to you. I have always thought the Sari's were so beautiful ane elegant, and admite them when I seem them, so feminine, flowing & colorful. You look very pretty in the blue one. Those scarves are perfect for fall...being 111, I cannot imagine..and try thinking about fall....not for me. Today is is 62, yesterday here it was
92 Crazy. Thanks for stopping by. You have a beautiful living room....your place looks very large and spacious...I could see why you would want to re arrange often. My LR is small and can only go a couple of ways..(.practicing gratitude is hard) but I do move it around, and not change out my accessories...there did I turn that around? Have a great w/e.
