Free Day Friday

The weekend has arrived. Plants are watered early before the heat of the day sets in.

Yesterday I made a banana cake and this morning topped it with homemade cream cheese frosting for a sweet breakfast treat.

With going back to work this past week, I haven't found as much time to crochet.

Our friends Bassam and Jennifer came to visit last nite (so there was a bit of a cleaning spree before they arrived). I showed Jennifer my dishcloths and doilies/coasters and told her to pick out something to take home. She chose two dishcloths with orange/peachy colors. And 3 pink mug coasters.

This summer, Gloria from Crochet Galore surprised me by sending one of her Summer Doilies my way! She posts all her monthly patterns so I had to give this one a try. As you can see, the cotton yarn I am using creates a much bigger version, but I still like it. I'm not sure I could work with a smaller thread.

Today is my day to take it easy and create. Tomorrow I will clean and organize (just a bit more). Hope you are having a fabulous Friday! Sending a

your way. Hugs and blessings, Tammy

Happy Friday, Tammy!! It's the start of a wonderful long Labor Day Holiday weekend here and I'm looking forward to it.

That cake looks so delicious!

Seeing your plants reminds me that after I first saw your picture of the "Moss Roses" here, I went out and bought some because they reminded me of childhood - my Mom used to grow those in our yard. Sure enough, as you previously mentioned, they've done really well in our extremely hot, dry summer.

We finally received rain the past two days though the grass is still mostly brown. It was a long rough summer. Hopefully the green will now be returning before everything fully dies off for winter.

Happy Friday - Happy weekend!
Linda

Hi Tammy!
Love your crochet!! I got some cotton yarn to do some dishcloths but that will be a Fall project. Now I am in the process of embroidering a Southern Belle Scarf I purchased on Ebay. When I get it done I will post it but it will be a while. LOL!!

How you bake so much and still look good is beyond me...what's the secret? As of today, I have lost 61 lbs since last Nov...I don't miss sweets but do miss the carbs...any helpful hints? Tammy have a wonderful weekend.

Tammy, your doilies look fabulous. I wish I could make those, but I'm afraid I'm not any good in that department. ;)
Banana cake sounds great, and I have about 7 bananas getting ready to spoil. Now I'll have to make some!
Take it easy in the heat, and have a lovely weekend.

P.s. the owner stopped by right after I posted he was a little high school kid. He told me he was working on the problem so I told him just try to take care of it.

If there is any banana bread left, could you save me a piece (with extra frosting) and I'll be over tomorrow. haaaa

I like the new doilies AND the yarn. What brand is it? Have you tried Aunt Lydia's Bamboo Cotton? Nice.

Have a sweet weekend. It's Labor Day this weekend, so the last of the tourists are arriving with their ATV's and campers. Then the quiet months of Fall are ours. It's cool here (40 degrees this am) and the trees have a tinge of color to them.

Hugs,
Jan

Hi, Tammy,
I always enjoy seeing your crochet work. My sister made some crochet dish cloths for me, and I just love them. Just throw them in the washer and dryer when they are dirty, and then they are good as new again. The banana cake looks like a delicious breakfast. I love anything with cream cheese. Enjoy your weekend and Happy September to you~Vicki

Hi Tammy Sweetie...
I haven't had banana cake with cream cheese frosting in a very LONG time. Now it's 12 midnight and you will have me thinking about that all night. YUMMY, how about I just pop over for a slice?

Love that closet with those dishcloths and coasters. Don't they all look so colorful and pretty stacked? I love colors and you sure have a lot of it.

We are still having triple digit figures here. It is a little more than I can stand of late. I am so praying for some cooler temps. Do you think we will get our wish? Nahhh. I didn't think so either.

Have fun creating today sweet friend. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry
