The Pink City

Jaipur is the capital and largest city in the State of Rajasthan in India. It is also known as The Pink City. While there, we had lunch at The Pink City Restaurant.

And also visited the largest exporter of antiques. Pictures were not allowed but I managed to snap these two as we were walking in.

Our tour included a trip to Jantar Mantar (Observatory)which is a World Heritage Site ...

"built in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the huge masonary instruments were used to study the movement of constellations and stars in the sky. Enormous sun-dials still provide accurate time, which are subject to daily corrections."

It is said ... "An excursion through Jai Singh's Jantar is a unique experience of walking through solid geometry and encountering a collective astronomical system designed to probe the heavens."

Here's Sam the Man in front of his birth sign.

And me, a Pisces!

Happy weekend! Happy Pink Saturday! I hope everyone is having an extra special day! Friendship Blessings, Tammy

Can't believe I've gotten behind on your blog. Don't know where these last few days have gone. I'm not surprised that you managed to find an antique shop, sneaky you for snapping a couple of shots.
Too bad your birth signs weren't translated. How fitting for you that your sign had a doorway on it...HA!
