An Art Date Again, Finally

Today I met up with my friend, Aruna, for brunch and a drawing date.

We met at the vegan restaurant, Wilgrow, which is walking distance from where I live, and when we opened our sketchbooks, we realized it had been exactly 11 months since our last outing at the very same place.

(She is the serious drawer of things and I am the doodler.)

The weather was just right for my walk there and for us to dine outside, but these are the only pictures I manage to take.  Guess I was too busy talking, doodling and eating.  :)
Since she will be leaving Kuwait for good in the next month or two, I'm hoping we can maybe get in a few more meet-ups before then.

Sunday blessings and warm wishes,

Dearest Tammy,
Happy for you that you finally managed to meet over lunch again after eleven months!
Who can believe this... And sad that Aruna is leaving Kuwait for good in a couple of months.
Hugs,
Mariette

How nice that you were able to have an art date again! Restaurants, cafes and coffee shops are still all closed here. Well, they're supposed to be. Some have opened "against the rules". Neither me nor my friends will will dine in at those places; we still don't feel safe enough. Covid is still rampant here. I see a couple of friends on a regular basis; last night I was at one friend's house for pizza and wine and this morning, the other friend came over just for a quick chat. In both cases, we sit far apart from one another and don't hug.

Have a good week!

I'm so glad that you were able to meet with Aruna. I know how much you enjoy that. Of course you were enjoying her company and not taking photos. That's how it should be. I am sorry to hear she's moving though. It goes without saying that I know you'll miss her.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

What a lovely date you had, Tammy! Your both sketchbooks must be filled with treasures and yours will certainly remain a lovely reminder, a memento of the times you spent together!

Tammy - it seems to me you focused on the right things - time with your friend! I do pray you get some more outings with her before she leaves.

How tasty and pretty the food looks.......even the green drink! How much fun to have a get together as you two do and how sad for you both that she will be leaving. I love both of yours and hers style drawings. I think that is the best thing when creative people get together is to see how different each one creates.
