Curtain Ring Crafting

Last month a friend wanted small handmade gifts to give out at a gathering she was having.
She is a very talented crocheter and can make just about anything she sets her mind to, but wanted something different, so asked if I could make 14 of my crocheted and cross-stitched curtain rings.
The crochet part is often times faster than making the little stitchings.
I made 20 so her friends would have choices.

Curtain rings are very inexpensive, come in a couple of sizes and are usually white or gold colored.
Sometimes I even find them for free on my walks.
Doesn't matter how cheap or grungy they are.
These got a good wash and now they are being turned into Christmas ornaments.
I truly cannot believe it is already the last month of the year.

Happy December!

Tammy, those are so beautiful! How generous of you to make them for your friend. Is there a place you got the patterns for the cross stitch and crochet? I absolutely love them. The colors are perfect together.
Wishing you a wonderful Sunday.
Blessings,
Betsy

Dearest Tammy,
Oh my, you are so very talented and above all, imaginative for creating something unique and SWEET!
These are so lovely and no doubt will create lots of happiness to the ones receiving.
Sending you hugs and indeed, can't believe either that we're so close to 2010 already!
On November 29, I did finish my final digitalizing of our videos. SO very happy about having tackled that mega task.
Offered my 2 VCRs on eBay for others to make use of them. The one for Hi8 and regular 8 tapes and also for Multi-System video tapes, even MESECAM (Middle Eastern SECAM). So happy with Mom & Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary tape and my brother's and cousin's wedding...
But a sad thing is that our Barty-boy who is 15 years and 8 months has been very sick. He got 3 injections on Tuesday morning as the vet thought he had an infection... Wish our fur babies could TALK! She said that soon he would be eating again. Well, he did that very day but since then he's only been eating little tiny bits but he kept up his water intake, which is good. I've started now sleeping with him, separated from the rest, in the veranda on a cotton rug; two sleeping bags; a folded flannel sheet and using my self-sewn small down duvets from the cut up big down duvet I used to enlarge my European twin duvets so the US size covers would fit. Barty has calmed down very much and that makes me happy. We will see...
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

Tammy - what a special gift for your friend, and in turn for her gathering! What a terrific way to "pay it forward". This Advent I am trying to think carefully of people in my life and how I can acknowledge them in simple ways that they might appreciate. It can be harder than it sounds! I would love to create these types of ornaments, but then I would have to learn to crochet (smile).

Dearest Tammy,
John Wilson is quite right in his statement - it is a pleasure and a privilege to pause for a look at handiwork. Your creative meetings always conjure up the most beautiful results, and seeing them gives me a lot of joy!
Hugs, my dear!
