With Love

About a month or so ago (time is really flying), I made salt dough ornaments with my little neighbor who was 6 at the time (she's 7 now).   It's been years and years since I made salt dough and I learned at that time that winter weather didn't exactly provide the right conditions for  it.
We made small hearts and big hearts and then left them outside for 24 hours to let solar energy do its thing.
They dried perfectly and then it was time to paint.

I let her have all the fun and only kept one of the bigger hearts for myself.
Crocheted hearts are often made with bits of leftover cotton and gifted to friends.

And it's not only my love of crochet that I'm passing on to the younger generation, but I've also got them stitching, too.
This past Saturday my newest little craft friends came for another visit.
And on Wednesday, my neighbors came over and since they are always looking for something crafty to do, I got them stitching, too.
Some freehand embroidery by me using the running stitch from this week's slow stitch sew along that I posted about Wednesday evening.

Let everything we do and say be an expression of the beauty in our heart, always based on LOVE.
(Don Miguel Ruiz)

Blessings to all,

Your neighbors and friends are lucky to have you teaching their daughters some fun crafts. I'm sure the girls had a great time. Hopefully they will continue creating on their own. Your crochet hearts are lovely and it's so sweet that you give so many away.
Have a great weekend, Tammy!

You are amazing! How sweet of you to take the time to craft with your little friend. All of the hearts are beautiful, but yours is a piece of art. The crochet, and stitching hearts are so pretty. You have such a big heart yourself that it's easy to see why you would love to make them and give them away. I hope your day is a bright and lovely one.
Blessings,
Betsy

Lovely hearts !! It is always nice to see new generation also taking interest in art and crafts rather than just mobile gaming apps. Loved your Kantha embroidery in earlier post:)

Tammy - I am glad to know I am not the only one that posts about things that happened a month ago! We don't have many kids in our neighborhood; it's great that you do and you have the time to invest with them. In my experience, attention from an adult other than parents means so much to kids. One person at a time, we can make a difference in the world!

Dearest Tammy,
Lovely post of creating salt dough hearts. Yes, I've made those too, baked in the oven, very slowly.
Teaching children something of beauty and meaning is so valuable!
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

Hi Tammy, It looks like you had great fun making that salt dough! I love all the hearts in this post. I hope to create something SOON since it has been since May! It is one thing after another, and this week I am still waiting for my painter and daughter to move in. Hopefully, soon!

This is so beautiful, Tammy. Your message of love is needed more than ever these days and it is lovely to see it embodied in so many different crafts. I especially love the tassels at the bottom of your love hearts.
Love to you from Australia xx
