Yesterday I finished up the 61 day index-card-a-day challenge over on Instagram, with the final prompt being sunset.
Some days I wasn't feeling very creative and found the prompts to be a bit tricky, but for the most part I stuck with them.
There were a couple of times when I did combine some of the prompts on one index card. I'm just happy that I actually finished out the 61 days. In fact, since I still have index cards, I figure I might as well keep creating.
I really can't believe it's August 1st.
This morning I had a lovely meet-up with my friends Aruna and Emina at a new coffee/library/gallery space called Muse Lounge.
We only had drinks but the dessert display was pretty tempting (no vegan options though).
Aruna is a new crocheter so we were there to encourage her.
Aruna practicing a granny square.
Emina's popcorn stitch cushion cover.
I'm always stashbusting and love making grannies as they require little concentration, perfect for a morning of friendship and conversation.
Happy August!

I love your index cards! You are so artistic and creative. That looks like a wonderful place to visit. Food, books, and artwork all in one place. What else could you need. I don't think I would have been able to walk away without trying one of those yummy looking desserts though. How fun to meet with a group of ladies to crochet. I'm still searching for a group here.
Blessings, Betsy
Dearest Tammy,
Lovely artwork on your index cards; that was a lot of dedication!
Like you, I had a lovely meeting with a dear friend. We are at the Hyatt House in Miami and have a complete suite.
We went to Costco yesterday for a delicious Tres Leches Caramel Cake and we all had a coffee here.
Moments of bliss and I love it. Yesterday when a tropical storm made it impossible to leave the house, I did crochet on my new kitchen curtain and will do some more this afternoon. Love it and it is very therapeutic.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
You did such a fantastic job of the ICAD! You should do a mass frame of them! I am so jealous of your knitting group. I should find one.. or start one.. but I'm just not sure how. I'm working on my snuggle blanket for my grandson. We're having some of your hot weather here!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I love following your index cards, especially on IG and yes, you did a fantastic job! You can turn them into a bigger piece of art. Do you have any plans with them?
Ever since you started your painting I have wanted to give it a try just to keep practicing....I'm no artist but I enjoy it. I know the 61 day challenge is over but I think I might give it a go....maybe not daily but on my 'crafty' weekends. I have some watercolors I bought for the grands and I have lots of index cards! I'm looking forward to trying this. Yours are gorgeous and I think they would look great all framed together in one big frame!
Also, the library with dessert and refreshments and cozy seating arrangements for crafting...a dream! I love the popcorn stitch square! I've never seen one like that....very pretty!
good morning, I am loving your cards-I may want to do that yet-a good art challenge for me.
what a nice spot for the coffee shop library sounds really nice If they had no vegan probably no gluten free for me-lol
enjoy your day Kathy
You are so very clever in the placement of your August index card. Congratulations on finishing 61 icad days. Muse Lounge is very inspiring and a grand place to spend time with friends. Happy Crocheting Dear...<3
I just love your index cards! I would have been a complete fail since I am not very good at drawing....lol I love that place you went, especially the dessert counter! And their lighting, very welcoming. Yes, August. Hard to believe. I have 22 days of freedom left...lol But I really do love going back so I will not be dwelling on it. Have a great week! :) Kit
I've enjoyed your 3 x 5 cards on IG. You are a good artist! They would make a fun quilt if such a thing were possible and I'm sure it is in some way. Maybe frame them all? I love the colors you've used.
Tammy - as I have said before, I really admire your artistry, and it is even more impressive when I see it all at once! Thanks for all your help with LinkWithin - I still can't get it to work but I will keep trying. (I won't bore you with the details other than to say it seems to get stuck at the Add Widget stage.)
All of your cards are beautiful!
I'm really impressed with your accomplishment! Very impressive! It looks like a fun challenge but it could be tough to keep up. Your finished cards are great! How cool to have that large collection of them. It could be fun to put them together into a booklet or frame them all together or something. Did you use markers or watercolors?
Your index cards look great, and yes, to just doing the work whether we feel inspired or not.. Muse Lounge looks like a perfect place to relax and have a cuppa! xox
Beautiful, Tammy. I love your pretty and creative index cards! You are great, my friend.
A lovely way to spend your day, doing what you love best. :) I've said it before but your index card art pieces are really outstanding and very impressive!!
I realized this morning that today is the only Monday I'm working in August. Off for the next 3 for various reasons with a fair bit of travel mixed in. :) And then next August 2018 will be my last August here. Odd how fast time goes.
Jim and I are off to Wisconsin to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary on Thursday and will spend some delightful days at a beautiful home rental up there.
Hope you enjoy a great week,
Linda
How pretty your index cards are! Great that you completed the prompts! The coffee shop looks like a wonderful place to get together. The crocheted squares look so pretty! It is nice to have friends to help and to encourage when starting a new project!
Your beautiful creative pursuits continue to encourage me to be creative, Tammy. Thanks for sharing. Individually and together your cards are a joy to view! In all the traveling I am doing this summer I have done little crocheting or painting, but I have been enjoying precious time with members of my family for which I am grateful. Happy August! 🤗
I don't know how I missed this post, but I'm catching up now! Good for you, doing the card-a-day so consistently - and so colorfully :) I'm doing #drawingaugust again this year, and find it's easier to keep at it if I do more drawings right here at home instead of always trying to get into the woods...although today Piper and I did head for the pond and had a good time until the mosquitoes became Too Much and I packed up the sketchbook and dog treats and we headed home.
WOW!!! Love love love the index card artwork!!! You're a great artist!
I feel for you with your recent comments about the difficulties in finding decent eats when you are out. I need to eat dairy-free and have various allergies and sensitivities. When I saw the dessert display in your photo, there was nothing there that I would feel safe eating either. That's sad. On the face of it, the cabinet looks like a big variety from which to choose but when you realise they are all pretty much the same sort of cake thing, it isn't that much variety at all. I hope the coffee was of good enough quality to make up for lack of healthy food choices.
Also I love the way you held your latest index card. In your photo it looks like the tree extended past the boundaries of the card it was painted on! Very clever, Tammy!
