A Wonderful Start

Happy New Year everyone!  I had a lovely day from start to finish.  Our neighbors invited us across the hall for a very bountiful and delicious breakfast buffet.  Afterwards, I took a walk with Jana, who is 6 years old, and Malak, who is 11. We left a crocheted heart behind at the garden and Jana picked me the teeniest flowers that I will press into my scrapbook.  We saw pretty roses along the way with busy little bees doing their thing.  And this evening, we went with friends to see the Indian movie, Dangal.  It's based on a true story and is very inspiring.  The movie is in Hindi, but at the theater we went to, there were Arabic and English subtitles.  We highly recommend seeing if you get the chance ( it was released in the States on December 21st).

Wishing you a year filled with peace, love and happiness.

The buffet looks delicious, so nice of your neighbours to invite you.
We have recently had bees and butterflies here and they shouldn't really be out and about but its been so mild, I hope it doesn't upset things.

An impressive and beautiful feast! I thought you were going to say you had gone out to eat at a marvelous restaurant!
The bees made me smile. I've been drawing a dried hyssop stalk today, and remembering the bees that visited every day this past summer.

The display of food is admirable! I think I would be dashing across the hall to share in that feast too ;) Sounds like a lovely day, and it was sweet of your young friend to pick a flower for you. Thanks for the review on the movie, and I'll keep it in mind. Enjoy your first week in the new year!

Happy New Year to you! The breakfast buffet looks so inviting. I normally don't watch movies and Dangal is running in the theater next to my house. Maybe I'll watch it.

Nice to know you had a great start. I watched Dangal last week, it was very nice, inspiring and entertaining as well. It was Hariyanvi Hindi accent from north west which was done perfectly.

Great start to a new year filled with possibilities. I will keep my eyes peeled for that movie. Hopefully we get it here. I love true stories.

A lovely start to the New Year! :)
We hardly ever go to the movies - maybe once every 2 years, but we're going tonight to see La La Land (because all I basically like are romance movies and that's the truth). ;)

Hope you have a great New Year. I always approach new years cautiously instead of jubilantly because it is just another day I guess. Did my usual run/walk and things are very great and rainy here. It's like this pretty much day after day here in the winter which really brings on the blahs...

Hi Tammy,

I hope 2017 is treating you well. I see that there was a Maker Faire in Kuwait this year and I thought of you straightaway. Did you get to visit it?

Here is a cool link which I thought you would find interesting:

I can't believe that I hadn't wished you a happy new year earlier (perhaps it didn't post properly in the first instance) so please accept my belated wishes for a happy and healthy year.

Cheers,
Jodie
