Wednesday Wandering

Go outside.
Don’t tell anyone and don’t bring your phone. Start walking and keep walking until you no longer know the road like the palm of your hand, because we walk the same roads day in and day out, to the bus and back home and we cease to see.
We walk in our sleep and teach our muscles to work without thinking and I dare you to walk where you have not yet walked and I dare you to notice. Don’t try to get anything out of it, because you won’t. Don’t try to make use of it, because you can’t. And that’s the point. Just walk, see, sit down if you like. And be. Just be, whatever you are with whatever you have, and realize that that is enough to be happy. There’s a whole world out there, right outside your window. You’d be a fool to miss it.
Charlotte Eriksson
Yesterday I walked round and round the walking paths near our home, but today decided to wander the neighborhood, winding my way up and down streets, looking for interesting things along the way.  I enjoy walking for exercise, but wandering is good for the soul.

Happy Wednesday!

And you have a lovely area, to wander in. :-)

Where I live, winter will not let go. Soon though, it will be a pleasure, to walk...

Love those red flowers and the doors with the stripes on them. Thank you so much for taking us along on your walks with you. They are places that I'll most likely never see, so I really enjoy it.
Blessings, Betsy

LOVE the message!! I rarely ever bring my phone with me on my run/walks (which Sarah said that I need to just refer to as my RUNS - because as she said, hardly anyone runs the entire time of a run, so 4 miles today was my 4 mile run). :) Anyway, I rarely ever bring my phone. Sometimes Sarah chastises me for not bringing it as she says - "what if something were to happen to you along the way?" What if? Because you know what, back in the day, no one ever had cell phones with them and I went all over the place and oh well.... So, that's how I happily live most of my days - no photo taking - no sharing - just running and being and you're right... it's WONDERFUL. ♥

You are so lucky to live in a place where bougainvillia grows.. it's a wonderful flower. One thing about my chosen method of exercise is that the swimming pool is always the same.. but the people that share the pool always fascinate me. Mostly annoy me.. LOL! Splashy swimmers. Enjoy your walks. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I really like this post. When I lived in Stockholm many years ago
I used to do alot walking by myself or with my daughter who loved
walking too. A book I often read "Let your creativity flow" by Julia Cameron
write alot about the importance of walking everyday.

Maybe I should start walking alone again because I have become so
dependent always being with my hubby... I used to be a very independent
person. Nowadays I feel half going out alone and I don´t like that feeling.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos. The red flowers are gorgeous. :)
Happy thursday to you!
Sussie

Wandering is wonderful. 56 years ago, newly married (with free time for a change). I wandered the streets and neighborhoods of this new town of mine. I sat in the little children's chairs in the children's section and read children's books in the little Carnegie library which is now gone. I wandered the aisles of FW Woolworth which is now gone. I wove in and out of stores and shops on the streets and they're all gone now. It was a wonderful odysey and I have never forgotten that time nor the places I went. It was so joyful. Thank you for doing this post, Tammy. Maybe it's time for another walk. Diane

Happy Birthday and in Sri Lanka! I'm envious and so glad you were able to celebrate there...how wonderful and exciting! Walking...I love where I live and love to walk here...when the weather is nice I walk in the pastures so the dogs can go with me. 3 times around the upper pasture is 2 miles and it's beautiful!

I love to meander off the beaten path however usually in my vehicle. I enjoy your walks and photos because they are so unlike our neighborhoods. What is the door image? Excellent exercise dear...

Dearest Tammy,
If you can walk in your neighborhood wherever you like to, that is just great!
Is it hilly in your area or are you walking only on flat surface?
For us it often is very hilly on foot and worse if you're on your bike. That with the heat in summer nearly kills you.
Enjoy the outdoors and sending you hugs,
Mariette

Good for you walking and meandering a bit too. I need to get back to walking, but with work and Little Buddy I am finding that hard to do. Thus the expanding butt and waist I have.

Meredith

I love how you see the beauty in everywhere you go. The sunflowers were my favorite on this journey....always turning and twisting their little faces towards the sun. I love that! :) Wishing you a day filled with many blessings. :)

How lovely! In this busy, hectic world, it's so important to slow down and quiet our minds so we can truly 'see' what beauty surrounds us.

Great photos, dearest Tammy, and wonderful words!
We went outside without a phone, too - to life in a mountain cabin in the Austrian alps for one week. If you wanna see it and see some snow - it's here: http://rostrose.blogspot.co.at/2016/03/almhutten-tage-und-noch-ein-bisserl-mehr.html ;o))
