Monday Meandering

On the way home from school this morning, the sight of this cheery little field of flowers prompted me to park my car and take a walk.
My friend, Melissa, commented that it didn't even look like I was in Kuwait.  It isn't actually a field.  Just a little empty lot that someone obviously threw seeds in.  But what a lovely sight it is.
The area is residential, with a mix of private homes and apartments.
It was a very gray day so the spots of color along the way were much appreciated.
I do love finding green spaces.
Doors with character.
Pretty entrances.
Well kept properties.
And beautifully blooming bougainvillea taking over buildings.
Walking takes longer than any other known form of locomotion except crawling.  Thus it stretches time and prolongs life.  Life is already too short to waste on speed.

Beautiful photos...even on a gray day. Perfect quote and I do feel the world is "spinning" faster and faster with so many people "On 24/7". It leaves no down time to recharge. Walking is a wonderful pastime. Thank you for always sharing inspiration dear.

So lovely!! Especially all of the greenery and flowers. Can't wait for spring and summer to return here so that we can enjoy lovely gardens. The little spring flowers here are blooming now and they are a welcome sight for sure.

Lovely spots of color on your walk today Tammy. My first thought when I saw that field of pretty yellow blossoms, was that you might be on vacation somewhere! It didn't look like Kuwait to me either. But then I read your words. How lovely that someone took the time to plant those beautiful flowers. Thank you for brightening up my day.
Blessings, Betsy

Leave it to you to find the prettiest things around you. I loved that magnificent date palm. Someone takes very good care of it. I also adore bougainvillea. Love your quote! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I really thought that first picture was down a country road somewhere in the states. And then I saw the Palmetto or Palm trees in the background. It is a very pretty spot!

So beautiful, Tammy! I never would have guessed Kuwait if I didn't know you.

Wondering---when you mentioned school I wondered if you are back to teaching?

Beautiful photos. I did not know you were in Kuwait until I read Blondies comment! I'm fairly new here. I find it amazing what the media shows us in other countries and what we see on our "own media" sites. Thanks for sharing these images.

Love seeing the area, where you live!

The gates and bougainvillea remind me very much of our years in Quito, Ecuador. Bougainvillea grows so luxuriously and its bright colors add a lot to a city landscape dominated by concrete. Finding green space is important, I think, for mental health!

My reaction to your first photo was that you might be visiting somewhere else.
I am wondering if it is chamomile or just pretty daisies.
Mother Nature never disappoints does it.
Doors always speak to me too.

Hi Tammy, there you go again, infusing beauty and joy into everyday scenes. You have an art and visiting you brightens even my dullest day. Maybe your pics also tell me to get out of the house more often, which I seriously need to do.
Have a lovely week.

It is fun to see your field of flowers...backed by palm trees, and I am so glad they are there for you to enjoy; you do have some lovely doors and other flowers to enjoy seeing as well. Thanks for posting photos so we can enjoy them, too xx

It does look like you're looking into a field somewhere in North America ... although that palm tree in the background is the giveaway ;) I always admire how you find the green and the beautiful in your city. Are you back at the school now? I haven't been keeping up with everyone the last few weeks. Have a great week yourself my friend!

Hi Tammy. I'd consider that my very own "field"----a place for the looking. Nice! Your walking inspiration is admirable. Susan

Hi Tammy, I wouldn't have thought either that the first picture was taken in Kuwait. The whole area looks very clean. I can see why you like to take a walk there.
Have a great rest of the week and hopefully blue skies.
Hugs,
Julia

Dearest Tammy,
Like you, I would also have investigated those flowers, looking like chamomile! What a refreshing sight in your area! Lovely gates, palm trees and tiles with sometimes lovely bougainvillea is such a rewarding sight!
Enjoy your walks and hope the weather behaves.
So glad that after 5 weeks the mail delivered...
Hugs,
Mariette

Hi Tammy! It's good to hear from you! Your friend Melissa is right, IT DOES NOT look like Kuwait or how I imagined it would look like! The flowers are gorgeous and it's nice to see green in that kind of a climate. I love the first photo. Beautiful!

„Life is too short to waste on speed.“ That‘s a clever quote, dearest Tammy! I liked the green and colorful spaces that yo detected while you walked very much! And the little empty lot with the „field-flowers“ is a good place for getting a happy heart…

Lots of hugs, my dear and best wishes from Austria!
