Card Swap and More Crafty Moments

Thanks to Amy at Love Made My Home for hosting a Christmas Card swap where we were paired up with one other blogger.  Our mail system is iffy at best but I figured I'd give it a go.  Surely a couple of little cards could wing their way to their proper destination.
My partner was Jo from Liverpool, Home of the Beatles; Jo blogs at Angel Jem's City Cottage
The card I received from her is there on the right and the card on the left is from our hostess with the mostess.  Thanks Jo and Amy!
Yesterday I met a new group of ladies for coffee and crafting.  They are a talented group of quilters who are also proficient at so many other crafts.  Yesterday they were all knitting while Emina and I were crocheting.
Another fun project I've been participating in for December is a daily sketch prompt.  If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen these, but thought I would share some of the drawings here on my blog.
Day 17: Stocking; Day 18: Light; Day 19: Cheer; Day 20: Red; Day 21: Fireplace.

Yesterday's prompt was "white" and for today it's "wonder" so I've combined the two in this painting of a snowman "Walking in a Winter Wonderland".
Happy Holidays to all!

Such a fun filled post Tammy. I enjoyed every bit of it. The card swap sounds like a fun idea and your crafty ladies get together looks like a wonderful time. Very talented ladies...and speaking of talent, your drawings are wonderful. Your new life of not being employed is agreeing with you isn't it? Merry Christmas!!
Blessings,
Betsy

Your description of the quilter/knitter ladies suits YOU, as well. Your quick sketches are pretty fabulous! And, yay for small mail cards - each year I am getting fewer and fewer back, though I send out about three dozen, still. I'm a dinosaur, I guess - I still love getting Christmas cards in the mail. Merry Christmas, Tammy!

Your sketches are great! I don't draw anything without looking at something for inspiration. That's how I've always drawn and as I mentioned before, mine are so intricate that it takes me months to complete a single drawing. I love the look of yours though :) I may complete the pencil drawing I've been working on for the past few months over winter break - key word is "may". ;)

I happily did not send a single Christmas card this year - for the first time in 37 years of doing that tradition. I have no regrets, even though we did receive many nice cards. I simply looked at them, said, those are nice, and filed them in our Christmas card holder and will likely throw them away after Christmas because I just do not have the space to store things in our tiny abode and I'm not into crafts so much.

It's unseasonably warm here today - in the 60s with the threat of severe thunderstorms. We're breaking all the records, since normally the HIGHS should only be in the 30s if that. Very un-Christmaslike for us, but it made for a warm, albeit damp since it's grey and rainy, 4 mile run this morning. Now I'm about ready to get some dough going for gingerbread cookies that my Mom and Sarah are going to help make this afternoon during our annual 3-generation Mother-Daughter baking day. Have a Merry Christmas if I don't check in again.
Love, Linda

I adore your snowman. He has such a cheerful face. You are truly multi talented. :)

Loved the shots of what everyone was doing. Do you knit, too? What is the popular thing to knit where you are at. Here it seems to be cowls.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas. :)

I love to hear of your crafting times with your friends. I wish I would take the time to do this with my own friends. We used to, but then we thought life got too busy and quit. I do love to see all you have been doing. I especially like the idea of the sketching. How fun!
I hope that you are enjoying the season with your family.
Did you get all the cookies eaten? :)))
sending hugs...
