Five on Friday: Crochet and a Bonus Recipe

Cheers to a brand new month.  Here's hoping July is much better than June which was filled with so much heartache.

This week has been filled with lots of crochet.
Since last Friday I've made several potholders.
A couple of succulents using this pattern from Pretty Providence and some more rock covers.

More dreamcatchers.
And today I finished up 6 gift bags for kids.
Last night, I tried a new veggie burger recipe.
You can find the recipe here on One Green Planet.
I've not had a whole lot of success with veggie burgers in the past, so cut the recipe in half just in case it didn't turn out.  I did, however, leave the chickpea flour at 1/4 cup and since I didn't have jalapeno, I added fresh cilantro instead.
They turned out absolutely perfectly.  I quickly mixed up a spicy tahini sauce and served the burgers on top of tomato slices with roasted potatoes on the side.  I will definitely be making these again.

Best wishes,

You could certainly have a store with all of the crochet items you make!! It's incredible; I've never known anyone to produce as much as you - you are a crochet expert for sure! :)

That recipe looks good. I have a couple of burger recipes - salmon and another chickpea one that I like, though we are not vegetarian. That hasn't changed. ;)

Our 3-day 4th of July weekend here is off to a quiet start. Sarah had all 4 wisdom teeth out on Wednesday and did exceptionally well, but now the swelling and bruising has really set in and so she's not much up to doing anything today. Jim and I might head out for some lunch at some point. Other than that, we've been working in the yard, I did my early morning walk, and we're enjoying the nice weather.

Take care,
Linda

It's been so long since I've had a crochet project! In fact my last one =a sweater= is still in my basket, unfinished. I adore the gift bags.

AND the veggie burgers? Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I'm gonna try those. I've been trying to cut down on red meat and hopefully, only have that nasty unhealthy meat [for my husband mostly] once or twice a year. LOL

I'm running over to the recipe that you shared...the link, as soon as I post my comment!! Thank you, thank you.

Wow! You have certainly accomplished much over the past few days! Love the gift bags especially. I must have missed what you do with all of them. Do you donate them somewhere or keep them for birthdays, etc? The burger looks delicious. We may need to give that a try sometime.
Blessings,
Betsy

So much crochet - and all so pretty. I've never seem a crocheted succulent before - and the potholder on the right made me think of sunflowers :)
Thank you for posting a link to the recipe - I also have had not-great results when making veggie burgers at home, and I almost never go out to eat anymore, so haven;t had a REALLY good veggie burger in ages! Did you cook them in the oven or stovetop or grill? I'm going to save this recipe and try it as soon as I see my first zuke of the season.

Hi Tammy-- the colors of your latest pot holders are gorgeous!! You have such a knack for choosing great color themes.

Cute little gift bags too-- how loved will those be!!! Home made gifts -- especially those as lovely as yours-- will be so appreciated.
I'm already excited about the veggie burger recipe-- that's SO me!!

Tammy I'm so terribly sorry about the loss of your friends. Depression is a devastating illness-- it strikes so many and leaves a wretched path in its wake. If only we could find more ways to help those who suffer so...

My love to you--
Vicki
