Craving Color

I seem to have a hard time lately formulating thoughts for blog posts.  It's certainly not for lack of photos as I take pictures each and every day.  In fact, I will go out of my way to find something to photograph.

Just this morning I went to the mall to buy a birthday gift and decided, despite the heat and humidity, to walk around the area and see what I could find.

From derelict buildings to beautiful blooms with bees, there is always something eye-catching and interesting to see.

Our weather lately has been mostly gloomy because of clouds and dust.
And we had an incredible electrical storm the other night that lasted about 40 minutes.  The rumbling sound was constant as the sky was charged with non-stop flashes of lightning.
There were moments when the 10:00 p.m. sky resembled daylight.  Mesmerizing and somewhat scary at the same time.
When days of gloom go on for too long, I start to crave color.

Today we had a colorful lunch with friends of Tom Yum and Pad Thai.  So spicy and yummy!
This evening will be spent finishing a colorful baby blanket.
Which just so happens to match my n'icecream.  Frozen bananas and blueberries blended with vanilla oat milk and topped with walnuts and cacao nibs.  Feels indulgent but really healthy.

Sending colorful wishes your way.

Tammy, do you sometimes wear masks if the air is so dusty? I just got back from a family walk at the park and I wished I had brought my camera so that I could take a photo of a nearby field of red clover. I'm glad you take photos every day and share some, too. Lightening is exciting and scary and very infrequent where I live now in Oregon. I love the colors you have chosen for the baby blanket. I'm starting one in pink. I hope your air clears soon and that you have a refreshing weekend in every way. xx

I wouldn't worry too much about posting Tammy, I feel the same. I think people must get fed up with seeing cats and crafts. I will still be here when you post so take a bit of time off if you fancy.

That was some storm. Great photos. We rarely get electrical storms here and I miss them. You found color along your walk, I hope it cheered you.

Reading your last two posts I really envy your great disposition. I'm really a visual person and I think I would feel a little down in the heat and sandstorms and the derelict buildings. Just wonder how they got that way. But the flowers are absolutely lovely and you have pictures in your last post that are beautiful. We've had a bit of warm weather this past week but the humidity reminded me of some of the days we have in August. Now we have a nice rain going on and we are back to the mid 60's which is the norm for us in May.

Wow, that was an incredibly electrical storm! Yes, mesmerizing! And I wanted to say your lunch looked wonderful. I love Tom Yum soup, do you have a recipe? Pad Thai is also a favorite of mine but I simply haven't tried to make Asian food. What a great challenge that would be!

Thanks for your visit...I need to spend a bit more time visiting...it's just not happening lately. :(

I always enjoy your photos and perspective of your world so far away. We have had two electrical storms lately and that is quite unusual for us here. Wonderful Weekend to you dear...

I agree, colour always adds a little energy back into the day. I especially like your bougainvillia photos; they remind me of my childhood.

Thanks for visiting today.

I know what you mean about finding words for blog posts. Sometimes I have a desire to post but no thoughts on how to link it all! The storm pictures are amazing - those lightning forks are crazy. I would be a little scared I think too. I enjoyed your post so maybe the lesson is to just use your pictures and post it anyway!!! Happy weekend, J9 x

The lightening pictures are fantastic! And mesmerizing is the word, alright. Wow, 40 minutes...must have seemed to go on forever.
Your lunch looks delicious, right down to the cucumber slices. I either need to learn to make a couple of interesting dishes, or else go out to eat once in a while! Now that I'm not working in a city, "eating out" usually means carrying my plate to the porch. And my special treat is frozen red grapes - so good!
Thanks again for your comments yesterday on my blog - it's good to know I'm not alone in my feelings about housework.
