Not So Bad After All

A friend sent me this picture from Lebanon this morning.  On Wednesday, the very day that they were supposed to go back to school after their winter break, a huge snow storm arrived and schools have remained closed.
We, of course, would never get snow here in the desert, but our weather often does change based on what's happening in countries around us.  Lebanon, Jordan and Jerusalem have received lots of snow in the past several days.  And yesterday everyone was talking about a huge dust storm coming through here, bringing with it much colder weather.
But so far that hasn't happened.  Everything was covered in a layer of dust this morning and it was very windy off and on yesterday, but never as bad as predicted.
With our college boy visiting right now, it was the first time in a year that we were able to go out to  lunch as a family.
And despite the haziness of the day, this evening's sunset was lovely and colorful.
Have a fabulous Friday!

Every time I see your photos of where you live I am always awed by the beauty there in the desert Tammy. I really am glad to read that the storm didn't come in as predicted. It looks like another wonderful day to be enjoyed.

Hi Tammy....I didn't even know it snowed in Lebanon. Learn something new every day.

So glad your "boy" is home. Does he like Colorado? Susan

That last photo is a beauty, Tammy.
Glad to hear that your storm wasn't as bad as predicted.
You must be thrilled to pieces to have your family all together again. Enjoy!

I'm so glad that the predicted storm didn't arrive. I guess I never thought about some of those places getting snow! That's surprising to me and shows a dreadful lack of my geography knowledge.
I'm glad that you're having a good time with your boys. Enjoy!
Blessings,
Betsy

Dearest Tammy,
WOW, so happy for you to read you were all together as a family during this special time!
Your husband is wearing a clone of Pieter's newest tweed sports coat with patches on the elbows. A very British accent in my opinion but I love its style.
Hugs to you and hope the weather remains fine for walking!

The weather looks perfect there Tammy my friends in Syria have been putting pictures up of snow it's fallen there as well, we are having gail force winds at the moment and I'm looking at my fence which is blowing back and forth with the wind and hoping it doesn't blow over! Have a great weekend. :) xx

Isn't it wonderful when you can be together as a family, well most of the time it is. Lovely views and beautiful sunset. It is chilly here, yesterday I could not get warm, even with a fleece and scarf on. Hugs to you,

Glad you're having a great time with your family!

It's still subzero here in Illinois and of course all of the snow that we've received thus far remains on the ground and for the most part, many of the roads since it's been so windy, drifting has been an issue. Jim had a 5 hour drive home from Chicago the other night on one of his normal workdays. He experienced white out conditions (not unlike a dust storm, except with snow), along the interstate and it was really scary. We're supposed to have yet another snow Sunday night into Monday, which means we may either be at home again Monday or go into work late. I simply will not drive in it, despite working - so I adjust my schedule around it.

In the midst of all of this, I've been happily planning our March spring break vacation for the gulf coast. :)

Happy Saturday,
Linda
