A Great Start

I kicked off the month of February by meeting a friend at the monthly farmer's market known as Qout Market.  It has grown so much since we attended the very first one in November.
I came home with lots of organic and healthy products.
And as long as I bring lunch, everyone is happy.  (The black bean veggie burger was for me, Zack had the Japanese burger and that left the apple chicken for hubby.)
The weather was absolutely wonderful with an amazing cloud show the entire day.
It certainly made for a very entertaining walk this afternoon.
A friend at school invited me to join the above challenge.  You can read more about it at the Skinny Dip Society.  Its mission:

Women diving into life fully, undressing their souls, shedding the weight and celebrating each other on the journey. It’s time for a revolution of happy. wild. brave. free. ALIVE women. {It’s contagious.}

Our first challenge was to eat like a queen.
Basically, slowing down and enjoying the moment and the food.
I had pumpkin kebba, lemon tahini quinoa salad, Mama Ghanouj and beetroot hummus.
Everything was purchased from the market today, except for the quinoa salad that I made yesterday from a recipe found in The China Study Cookbook.
I even used the tomatoes from our balcony and boy were they good.
Here's to a healthy, happy month.
Happy February!

Such a fun filled morning Tammy. Those foods all sound very exotic to me. We're very much a meat and potato family. :-(
Blessings,
Betsy

Yes, what a great way to start February. The smells, colors, and textures of all the food seem exciting. I love that you share all these exotic things with us "meat and potato" people...HaHa.

Your posts are so interesting and fun. What a great market. Are a lot of the signs written in English? Is that the norm?

The Skinny Dip sounds like a fun way to encourage one another to eat healthy. Of course, some of your meals were foreign to me, but I get the idea.

You look beautiful in the pic! :)

XO,
Jane

Dearest Tammy,
That was a great start off for the new month! My eyes popped when I went from 7th Heaven to the Skinny Dip Society... but it proves to be harmless thank goodness.
Enjoy your new month and with your healthy life style you look GREAT.
Hugs,
Mariette

Beautiful photographs of your wonderful day, I love Markets, they have such a great atmosphere and you can often find little gems that cannot be found elsewhere. Thank you for sharing your day :-)

As always, your food sounds delicious. So your husband and son aren't vegetarian or vegan like you...do you find it hard to cook for them? I just saw the pictures of your tomatoes from the previous post. They're so beautiful! I can't wait until we can have fresh tomatoes here again. The supermarket ones are disgusting.

Thank you for sharing your lovely market day :) And you do have amazing skies!
I just bought a packet of quinoa for the first time, and will soon be googling for recipes. I'll try to find the one you used - the salad looks so refreshing! - although it will be many months before tomatoes are available on my balcony, by which I mean in my garden ;)

Hi Tammy

Your pics show that you cherish every day, `seize the moment' kind of day. Great. I'll hop over to check the 21 day challenge :)

The food and their names both look and sound great!

Have a great week ahead

Hey Tammy, thanks for your comment on my blog the other day. I must say, I thought you had not been posting or something, because I never saw anything from you. Then I figured it out....I had a computer glitch sometime back and lost some of the blogs I followed. Apparently, yours was among them. I still have stupid stuff happen on this blog site, but for the most part it does the job I guess. Anyway, I wanted to also say hi...that I've missed your blogs and pass the black bean and quinoa salad, please. I'm going back to add you to my blog list. See ya later.
