Joy and Hope

Do you ever feel like your inner joy has decided to take the day off? I guess sometimes it happens to all of us. When I mentioned that to a friend last week, she gifted me with a book to encourage and inspire.

Page 14 is actually entitled Source of Joy.

Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?"
Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD,
You have filled my heart
with greater joy than when their grain and
new wine abound.
(PSALM 4:6-7)

I made the tag above using one of my favorite quotes from Emily Dickinson:

HOPE is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune --
without the words,
And never stops at all.

And this little stitching I finished last night reminds of the birds outside my window.

I haven't cross-stitched in a while so there are a few mistakes but that's okay.

My imperfections and failures are as much a blessing from God as my successes and my talents and I lay them both at his feet. ~ Mahatma Ghandi

(India, September 2010)

Wishing you a joyful day, Tammy

Oh yes, it happens to us all. I try to focus on the good and hence the 'law of attraction'. It is hard at times but I try to take pleasure in the little things of everyday life, like you seem to do here. WRiting on a blog or in a journal encouraging others helps too. Enjoy your day, whatever it may bring.

Yes, ma'am... I know about the days when your inner joy seems to have taken a vacation...

Like the ebb and flow of the tide, life brings shifts and changes... I think the low tides make us appreciate the times when our souls are flowing with joy... If we knew nothing different, it would not be so precious.

Here's hoping your inner joy springs rich blessings soon...

Your bird crosstitch is w.o.n.d.e.r.f.u.l. and of course, that quote is dear to my heart also. ;) blessings and a big hug ~ tanna

Dearest Tammy,

Oh, certainly we all know that feeling! Sometimes it happens without a warning, just poof and nowhere to be found. A good night sleep and letting things relax will make a huge difference.
Wishing you all the best and never give up. There will be always a better tomorrow.

Love,

Mariette

Yes, I know exactly what you mean! I always find that talking to an understanding friend is the beginning of a turn around for me ... Your friend was so sweet to do more than just listen, but give you a special book of encouragement as well.

Your tag is beautiful Tammy, I love that quote, too. But the psalm is even more beautiful. And I love your pictures of the birds and your stitching. Lovely post today. Blessings and hope, Diane

Hi T,
That quote from Ghandi is spot on! I love it.

And speaking of loving...your stitching is always so lovely. I can think of nothing that calms me more than sitting with a needle in hand. I do some of my best thinking then. I'm sure it is the same for you.

You have a special friend there.

Hello my litte chickadee. I am sorry to hear you felt a little joyless for a time. Yes, I think we all do once in a while. I hope you are feeling better now. Make sure to take time for yourself and do things you love. It looks like that book is a real blessing as is the friend that gave it to you. I love you and am always thinking of you. In fact I bought a pair of earrings just for you in Arkansas. Hugs!

Hi Tammy,

I know exactly what you mean. Your scripture and quotes are so nice. Do you have a laptop monitor smaller than 15 or 16 inches? I have a 16.5 inch laptop monitor that I test everything on since my desktop has a 22 inch monitor. Has this happened every time you've come to my blog? If not then it could be Blogger messing with us.

Have a wonderful week,
Stephanie ♥

I'd say you did a great job cross stitching those birds. And I know what you mean when you have those kind of days, How thoughtful of your friend to give you the book on Psalms, a place where there is much comfort.

I love your new blog look--so cheerful!
