Farewell to January

Time to turn the calendar to a new month.

February arrives cold, wet and gray, her gifts disguised for only the most discerning spirits to see. Gentle is our path. Gratitude is the thread we weave into the fabric of our daily lives this month, giving thanks for our simply abundanant lives and asking for the gift of one more thing: grateful hearts. (Simple Abundance, Sarah Ban Breathnach)

This white picket fence surrounds a small house here in Kuwait.

Actually, I'm not even sure what the house looks like. I just love the sight of that white picket fence. The house sits on a small plot of land with a bit of grass and is hidden by lots of trees. Certainly not commonplace in a country where many think that bigger is better.

Such a refreshing sight in the midst of a concrete jungle.

I hope your Tuesday is filled with simple pleasures. Friendship blessings, Tammy

Our Tuesday will be spent as a SNOW Day - No school or work and although I'm sick with a head cold/flu, I'm in a good mood, knowing that we are snowed in tomorrow and likely Wednesday as well, as we're set to experience one of the bigger snows of record for these parts.
That white picket fence is lovely. Hey, in a country here where bigger always seems to be better, we live in a small 1200 square foot home and most of the homes around us here in our town are even smaller than that. :)

Oh, Tammy. Wouldn't you love to go up to that house and ask for a tour? Wonder who lives there? Someone from New England, perhaps? Hmmmmm. Some sleuthing is in order! Susan

What a coincidence....yesterday, I was driving down the street and, for reasons unknown, I was taking note of the different types of fences the houses had. There were no white picket fences but, in my mind, I thought how nice it would be to have a house with a white picket fence. I come to your blog post today and see you talking about...white picket fences. lol

A lovely post to welcome February, Tammy ~ :)

Oh for a cottage covered in roses and surrounded by a white picket fence.
This would be my heaven.
Here's to February we're a little nearer to spring.

Hi Tammy!
I can't sleep...it's 5:00 am and I'm wide eyed!
We are supposed to get hit with that huge winter storm too...starting tomorrow and into Wednesday.

I like that white picket fence too...it really is quite charming!
Hope you have a happy day...I'm going to try to get some sleep now before it's time to get up again and get the kids to school. Maybe we'll have a snow day on Wednesday?

Ciao Bella T!

I love white picket fences. I had one at the house I moved from 10 years ago and enjoyed it tremendously.

This is not at all what I ever pictured for your part of the world!

My hands are feel better today and am looking forward to doing a little sewing or stitching this evening once all the animals are taken care of. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy February!! This month is called "crazy" here in Guatemala, as it might rain some days, or the sun can come out all of the sudden. A Spring month, I say, when flowers bloom, and trees turn lush and green.
Happy February my friend!

That fence would be lovely anywhere...such a great design, but something I don't think of seeing in Kuwait, but then of course I have never been to Kuwait. (-: It would be very tempting to try to see the house sometime...if you do please tell us about it. Have a great day and thank you for visiting me.

Love the picket fence. Our neighbor has one along the property line between our home and his. It is beautiful. He was visiting in the San Francisco area many years ago, saw a fence he liked, and asked the owners if he could make a pattern. He then came home and made the fence in his workshop. He is in his late 80's now and can't do woodworking anymore. We do have the lovely fence that greets us each morning.

Your weatjer sounds similar to ours. Rain and cloudy yeaterday. Cool and windy today. Below freezing tonight. Burr!!!!! Not supposed to get cold in the desert.

Are you not the one who like a small house surrounded by a white picket fence?? How very appropriate that you found one in Kuwait. I don't know where the house is, but it sure looks like a lovely sight with all the brown, and cement of Kuwait.
Hope February is a good one. It should be, as someone has a birthday coming...

Love ya, dear!!
