It's Back ....

6:15 am and it looks to be a beautiful day!

Looks are deceiving! This was the view at 10:15 am.

Hubby called to tell me a dust storm was rolling in so at 10 am, I came home to close the sliding glass door that leads from our bedroom to the balcony.

We haven't had dust in a while so I guess we were due. Since Friday, the weather reports have said rain, but it never happened, and the dust arrived instead.

I finally got my little tree up. The kids say it is too little but I wanted to go small this year. Of course, I also wanted to make all the ornaments and haven't even started yet. But hey, it's only the 13th. There's still time, right!! ???

Baking has kept me busy along with school and house work. Time just flies!

Hope you are having a bright and beautiful Monday in your part of the world. Friendship blessings, Tammy

Sorry about all the dust, Tammy...not very festive, is it?! Your tree looks beautiful, though, and your home looks warm & cozy. Yummy cookies, too--a good day!

Well, I like your tree. Tasteful and just the right size. Santa doesn't care, I'm sure!!!
Nice of your hubby to warn you about the dust coming in or you'd have to find Jingles under all the dust!!

Have a great day. Oh, the cookies look just yummy!

Hi Tammy...Ohhhhh, dust is even worse than snow. Hope it passes quickly. Your tree is darling. You are so lucky you can bake luscious cookies and not get fat eating them! ha! Hope your day goes well. Susan

Seems like little/small is the new trend!, so I say you are in fashion :o) I'm thinking of a little one next year :o))
Baking...if I had the ability for that. I wanted to make cookies, but I see my calendar, and there just isn't enough time! What is is with December and busy times?!
Have a lovely day!!

Seriously, I don't know which is worse...
A Chicago Blizzard
or
A Desert Dust Storm....

At least my eyes don't itch here, but the tears are frozen on my cheeks.

Sweet posting,
Kate

Hopefully behind the dust will come the rain and cooler weather! We have the cold, cold wind today from the big storm that hit the midwest...but I'm inside, so it's OK!!! I'm not putting a tree up this year...no room and no kids....so yours looks just right!!!

I've never experienced a dust storm. Doesn't look like a lot of fun. I like your idea of a little tree....good luck with the ornaments!

Dearest Tammy,

Well, each place on this globe has its pros and cons... and we have to deal with them.
But your inside looks as cozy as can be and the tree is very elegant. Don't need a pompous one... You are right, it is only the 13th and we still have several days left.

Lots of love,

Sorry to hear about the dust storm, hopefully it passed quickly and you have bright blue skies now. Your tree looks very sweet and festive and the cookies look yummy! My mom used to make a cookie that looked similar to yours called Tea Cookies, they had walnuts in them and you rolled them in powdered sugar. Yum! Have a great evening (or morning); not sure what time it is on your side of the world...

Sorry about the return of the dust. I love your little tree, it looks warm and inviting. I don't bake, or at least I try not to because I really don't like it.

Ummm.... the 13th - yea, we have just one week until Christmas break and just 4 days until our first Christmas celebration with my family. And only 8 days until OUR Christmas Eve (on the 22nd), so on our end - time has just about run out!! What's done is done and anything else won't happen. :)

I think your tree is so pretty and a good size. I'm thinking of doing that next year and I love the idea of all handmade ornaments. A most special tree that will be. The cookies look wonderful ... I think they may be one of my favorites, we called them snowballs. I can't even begin to imagine a dust storm. It must not be very pleasant. Keep safe and sound. Hugs and blessings.

Your Christmas tree makes a magical centrepiece in your living room.

There's so much to do - just when we want to take time out for reflection and caring.....

We've only got 11 sleeps left~!~
Love your festive music Tammy!

I love your header photo..seeing your beautiful family. The tree is perfect..and the dust? Well, maybe it's blowing in good things..blowing out the cobwebs of sorts..

Then again, maybe it's just dust..in that case, I'm sorry. Must be a pain to sweep and dust all. the. time!

The dust sounds terrible! Your tree is lovely and those cookies look yummy...I will be right over. Susan

Hey Tammy,

I agree with Susan about dust being worse than snow. I'd take snow any day!

I like your little tree. Big isn't necessarily better. I kept my decorating almost minimal this year. Because the lot I usually buy from ran out of small table top trees, I didn't even put one up (yet). I do miss my tree though, as I have so many special bird ornaments that I really enjoy.

I don't think I'd make it in your region long. I'm horridly allergic to dust. Hope you get rain soon to pound it down some!

That's a pretty little tree, so cozy looking with the lights in the darkened room. Hope the sandstorm is short lived.

LOVE YOUR LITTLE TREE, I USED TO HAVE BIG ONES. I LIVE WITH MY DAUGHTER JACKIE, SHE HAS A SMALL FAKE ONE DOWN STAIRS, AND A LARGE REAL ONE UPSTAIRS. SO I HAVE A SMALL ONE IN MY BEDROOM. THIS YEAR I BOUGHT A SET OF THEM, IT CAME IN THREE TREES, SMALL, MED., AND A LITTLE LARGER. I WILL TAKE PICTURES. ENJOY THE PRE-HOLIDAYS, LOVE YOUR MUSIC. RIZZI

Sorry about the dust, but I am happy to know you have not had the rain. I know what happens in your house when it rains... The tree really looks lovely, even if it is a smaller version of what you usually do. I would love ot think the boys will enjoy putting some decoration on it with you. Good luck with that.
The baking looks wonderful. You will find those same cookies in my kitchen next week. I hope you got it all done and were able to find some time to craft a bit...

Love,
Renee
