Changes

Today is my oldest son's 15th birthday.

Where does the time go?

I no longer get to choose his outfits. He has a style all his own.

When I got up yesterday morning

I had no intention of making changes around here. But after seeing so many bloggers decorating for Fall, I just couldn't delay it any longer.

White summer curtains were replaced with these new tab curtains from Ikea that have a built in sheer.

Our new quilt from India is on the bed.

And the scarf that was at the foot of the bed has now moved to a wicker chair (necessary to hide all the pieces that are missing thanks to son no. 2).

Jingles, along with the rest of the household, usually just roll their eyes and wonder what I am up to again. I have a tendency to get bored with things and need to see change.

Even when the weather changes here, everything looks the same outside. So I have to work on things looking differently inside.

"If you wish to be happy, think not of what is to come nor of that which you have no control over but rather of the now and of that which you are able to change."
CHRISTOPHER PAOLINI, Brisingr

Time to put the Fall wreath on the front door.
Friendship Blessings, Tammy

I am wondering if everytime you look at your Son now all YOU see is that little Boy in the Photo??!!! I know when I look at my DD (30) all I see is her at the age of 2 or 3.
Wish I could decorate for Fall...there just is no point in the mess right now:(

Happy birthday Yousef. I'm sure he is just thrilled that you posted that baby pic of him, which is too cute. Love the colors going on. Wish I could actually see the fall foliage now. I bet its gorgeous up at the lake with its array of colors starting to develop.

Ahh yes, changes. How I don't really like them, however necessary. And, watching our children grow up is bittersweet at times, but lovely. Hope your son had a wonderful Birthday. :)

Your decorating is lovely. I'm so wishing that package would arrive for you!!!

Have a wonderful week,
Linda

Happy Birthday to him!! 15 already? Time flies really quickly, huh?
I absolutely love your decor! The orange accessories give the environment a wonderful look, and I am sure, a wonderful feeling. Really, really nice. I am like you: when something bores me, time for a change!! I found myself painting walls on the weekend :o) When my brother and SIL came and saw me, they rolled their eyes and went "what are you doing now? stay still!!" hahaha
have a lovely day!

Your home is so lovely and the special touches for fall are perfect! The weather here is changing, bringing cool evenings and mornings with the fresh smell of fall. I love it! Mums have already been placed outside, but after reading your post I think a fall wreath for the door is in order (:

Take care, Michele

Happy belated birthday to Yusef. That is a great picture of him taken at the Taj Mahal. It really is amazing how they grow up. I know in just a few weeks, number 2 will be having his turn.
Your decorating looks just wonderful. As much as you and I have in common, I am so opposite you when it comes to decorating. I never change anything! HA! I love the fact that you take such pleasure in making your home look beautiful and unique! Good job!

Love ya,
Renee
