One of my craft group friends, Zhraa, is also in another fiber arts group that meets once a week in the evenings at Sadu House, a cultural center where Kuwait's textile heritage is preserved and promoted.
Over the past few days they've held their annual exhibition with the theme of Old Kuwait and since today is the last chance to see their creations, I went over there this morning and was amazed and inspired by all the creative and beautiful handiwork.
This is Zhraa's crocheted pieced entitled Woven Whispers which got first place.
And her crocheted phonograph (top right) received a third place ribbon.
Enjoy the rest of the tour.
Seems I accidentally put the slingshot in two collages :)
One of my favorites:
The funny thing is, I apparently missed at least a dozen kites that were hung from the very high ceiling. I was too busy looking down and all around and never really looked up. Zhraa said she would take a picture of them this evening to send to me. :)Have a good Thursday.

That is such a great exhibition! I saw your reflection in the mirror! So glad you were able to go and see everything, especially your friend's 1ST Place ribbon!
What a wonderful exhibition! So many things to peruse - I'm not surprised you didn't look up and see the kites. I love the crocheted game boards, which would be so nice and portable. Congratulations to your friend - a ribbon earned in an exhibition with so much quality really means something.
What a wonderful and inspiring exhibit.
What gorgeous, gorgeous pieces!
Kuwait may be missing a lot of things to make the country expat friendly, but I always admired and appreciated the work done by Sadu House. India has thousands of crafts, but with the size and population, it is not possible to protect Indian crafts like Sadu house does.
So proud of our friend Zhraa...
What a wonderful exhibition!
Tammy - what an incredible exhibition - so many styles, textures and subjects. I also noticed your reflection in the mirror - did you do that on purpose? Congrats to your friend on her ribbons - I want to know how she got the phonograph to keep its shape!
Thanks so much for your kind comments on my blog!
This exhibition sounds amazing! Zhraa’s “Woven Whispers” totally deserves first place, but the camel is my favourite.
Love seeing all the talent and craftsmanship in fiber arts.
Thanks for sharing
