(Letters cut from a portion of a cardboard box I found on the ground.)
I hope you enjoyed a nice, long weekend of thanks-giving.
It's very hard for me to believe that today is actually the first day of December.
It's very hard for me to believe that today is actually the first day of December.
My breakfast this morning was (vegan) butternut squash pie topped with coconut cream and cinnamon. Since I couldn't find pumpkin at the grocery store, I decided to use leftover roasted squash from Thursday and it tastes just as yummy.
Walks are becoming more frequent since the weather is much better at this time of year (70's during the day and 50's at night).
I'm still PLALKING (picking up litter while walking) and today there was a really lucky find.
I saw purple from a distance and thought it was a chip bag but turned out to be 5-KD which is the equivalent of about $15.00.
I'd say it definitely pays to pay attention. :)
Hope this finds you all well.
Happy December!

That is a nice reward for you picking up litter. Good to see you back blogging. Your weather today sounds like where I live, 70s in the day and 50s at night. I love those temperatures. You mention vegan, I ate in a vegan restaurant recently and the food was delicious.
You are so creative. I love your cut out letters from the box...DECEMBER...VERY NICE
Enjoyed your post and pictures. It's lovely to be able to have good weather for a long walk.
Your squash pie looks delicious. Sort of like Sweet Potato Pie. I made a Philly Pumpkin Cheese Pie for Thanksgiving. It was well received!
Dearest Tammy,
Wow, for all your years of collecting trash and cleaning up after others, you found some reward!
Good for you.
Do you use the coconut cream in a whipped form? We buy that at Trader Joe's, in such a flask for topping off waffles. It is as good as whipped cream but far more healthy.
Enjoy your walks, it sounds like perfect weather.
Just rescued a lizard from our youngest kitty girl... put it across the creek!
The painter duo is working on our exterior; finally after requesting it in April.
Wet spring and summer threw their schedule off and now they are dealing with a shortage of paint (not for us, that got secured early on) due to the supply chain being interrupted. What else is coming our way?
Meanwhile I've taken up singing as a soprano in the chancel choir of our First United Methodist Church and also participate with 7 songs in Händel's Messiah which we perform on December 19th.
Can't believe we're this far in the year...
Hugs,
Mariette
Congratulations on your purple find. Eventually good things come to good people. I hear lots of people saying that this year went by so fast. There is always a certain percentage that say it, but this year EVERYONE seems to be repeating the mantra.
Wishing you a wonderful December.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Hello, I am very happy that you wrote your December 's post.Time flies fast and we see some
nice and memorable moments,Christmas will be soon, greetings from anna
Dearest Tammy,
your vegan pie looks absolutely yummy! How nice that your walks can now take place in more pleasant weather - and wonderful that you are also plalking at the same time. You not only find garbage, but the universe also rewards you with a nice sum of money - that's something! :-DD And I think the positive feeling you have when you do something good is an additional reward - thumbs up! And thumbs up for your creative use of the cardboard box you found on the ground!
Thank you for your nice comment! You asked me: "How is the lockdown affecting you now?" Well, we became grandparents on November 20th. And if we strictly adhere to all the rules, we would only be able to see our first grandchild when it is nearly four weeks old. Creativity is required: It is allowed to go for a walk and you can provide family support. We combined that (and, to be on the safe side, did a Covid test despite our vaccination) so that we could see the young family. It was very nice to be able to meet little Jamie for the first time.
Otherwise we live happily. We do sports, we go shopping, we save groceries with the help of an app ("Too good to go" - food that would otherwise have been thrown away because it was left over in the supermarkets or has expired) and then we cook something good out of it, ... but we are also looking forward to the fact that the lockdown for vaccinated people should be over from December 13th. (Let's hope nothing else comes up.) On December 23rd, my husband and I will have the third vaccination.
I hope you and your family are fine!
Happy December and all the best
Traude
Nice to see your litter picking rewarded! I like your creative lettering.
Beautiful blog
Glad to see a post from you, Tammy. Yours is the only blog that still exists from the ones I followed regularly for years. I don't check in here very often either.
Your weather is getting better and this is where ours gets worse for several months. I still walk outside many days despite it being cold and windy often, but I don't go out there when it's rainy or icy, so today was one of those such days and I'm happy to have my treadmill in our garage for those days, where I can wear my shorts and run on the treadmill with my music blasting and pretending it's warm out. : )
Happy December. It's been an odd feeling for me this December being that Dad is in a home and it's our first holidays without my parents here (well - three since Mom passed, but you know what I mean being that Dad isn't here at home). We see him all the time, but it's just different. Everything is different but with my faith, I always manage to press on - everything is decorated and "looks" happy, but sometimes I'm just not feeling it. Still - there is Sarah's 26th Birthday this week and Jim's 65th Birthday on Christmas Eve, so there are always activities coming up to look forward to.
Happy Holiday time to you,
Linda
Your pie looks very yummy. Glad you're finally having some nice walking weather, too. Woo hoo on finding that money - well deserved after picking up all that trash!
Good to see you back here in blogland again.A lucky find and a well deserved reward I would say! Sr P litter picks every day when he goes for his walk early morning and he has been doing it for years. Truly a thankless task and in fact in the past some walkers have even scoffed or sniggered at him for doing so! Times have changed thank goodness and there are more "litter heroes" here than there were. keep well. Amanda x
Tammy - nice to see you back in blogland again! I agree with you - December already? I took an emergency trip to Ohio at the beginning of the month, and that has made time speed up. During Advent, I am laser focused on slowing down, paying attention and enjoying the little things! Today, I was thrilled to watch snowflakes drift downward most of the day!
I hope this finds you well and keeping safe! thanks for stopping by!
Nice to see you blogging again, dear Tammy. Wishing you all the best for the coming year!

Hi Tammy. I was so happy to see that you had visited my blog and commented, too. I thought of you the other day since I had one of your pretty hearts on a string adorning a photo in my home office. It made me wonder how you were doing and if you are still making the world a better place by leaving your pretty hearts randomly around. Hope all is well with your hubs and boys. Hugs. Susan
