Earth Day

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the first Earth Day that was organized because of growing environmental concerns.  Government agencies were established and policies were passed, but a lot has changed since 1970 and it's obvious that there's a whole lot more that needs to be done to protect people and the planet.
Today's prompt for the art challenge was mountains.
I thought advice from a mountain would be an appropriate sentiment for earth day.
Took myself on a walk around the neighborhood so I could leave a little love and photograph my mountain doodles in natural surroundings.
An awake heart is like a sky that pours light.
Living intentionally.
Planting gardens.
Connecting with nature.
Conserving and repurposing.
Simple ways that we can celebrate Mother Earth every day.

Happy Wednesday,

A beautiful post Tammy. You do such nice artwork and are so generous leaving the hearts for others to find.

Dearest Tammy,
Yes, a very special Earth Day where we all realize hopefully more what it means to be alive and to enjoy the little miracles around us.

I think it's great that we have an Earth Day - but I think it's even greater that we all do our part each and every day of the year. I know that you do your part by growing plants and feeding feral cats and walking. We plant trees and now vegetables and provide bird seed and a water feature for birds and other wild life to drink. I take re-usable bags to shop and raise our own chickens for eggs. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Tammy - perfect drawings and sentiments for Earth Day. This week someone sent me this quote:

"Historically, pandemics have forced humans to break with the past and imagine their world anew. This one is no different. It is a portal, a gateway between one world and the next.

We can choose to walk through it, dragging the carcasses of our prejudice and hatred, our avarice, our data banks and dead ideas, our dead rivers and smoky skies behind us. Or we can walk through lightly, with little luggage, ready to imagine another world. And ready to fight for it." Arundhati Roy

I find it interesting that the earth has literally made us all slow down so she can rest a bit. We should be more careful with her. Stay safe Tammy.

Beautiful post. I love trees and have planted quite a few, plus many were planted in a forest in memory of my husband. When I put my hand on the bark of an old tree, I feel a life force in it. How are you doing in this pandemic?

Hi Tammy! How cozy your blog is. So fun to read it again. And to look at all the nice photographs you have taken. Very inspiring.
I have had a long blog break. But fight me back again. Don't want to be without the blog world.
Take care of yourself now in these Corona times.
Warm greetings Sussie

Dearest Tammy,
I was very happy to read about you again.
I really like your Earthday activities!

I'm sorry that you have full curfew for so many days! I keep my fingers crossed that you don't have to go beyond that. In our country life is gradually returning to normal - for now. Currently only 810 people in Austria suffer from Covid-19. It will be seen how the contagion rate will develop as the exit restrictions are relaxed. I am so glad that I don't live in the city and that I can stay here in our garden and in nature. I understand you well that you are grateful for the exercises every afternoon. We also train several days a week - only if we do hard gardening, we cancels the exercises ;-)
Stay safe!
Hugs from here

Hi Tammy,
Just checking in to see how you are. I don't know why I missed your Earthday posting.
I do like your 'mountain' art and the sentiments that go with them. I love your attitude and passion for all sorts of things.
I am grateful to have a small garden - my own patch of nature - into which I can escape. Even the smallest green space has lots to discover. Lately, it has been caterpillars in my cabbages but they need to eat too!
I hope you are staying safe and well.
Best wishes xx
