First Stops

As I mentioned in my previous post, our first stop on our recent trip was to Canada.
Our first morning in Toronto was a very foggy, drippy one after days of rain.
It was also chilly, but that didn't stop me from taking a morning walk (much needed after so many hours on a plane the day before).
Everyone said that Spring was several weeks late because of the frigid winter, but there were definitely signs of it finally springing forth.
I think we actually experienced several seasons that first day.
You can see in these two pictures, taken not more than 30 minutes apart, that the weather kept changing.
The scariest part was the drive home later in the day when there was a moment or two that we couldn't see a thing.
Another first stop on that first morning was Tim Horton's which is my brother-in-law and his wife's favorite place for coffee.
Thankfully, after that first crazy weather day, we had beautiful weather for visiting family and were able to also take a hike and visit a botanical garden.

But I'll save that for another time.

Best wishes,

That has been kind of strange spring we have had too. Today is 83 and sunshine which is very welcome after the cool wet spring we had. I’m glad that all went well on your drive and you were safe even after the scary moments. I just have to thank you again for the beautiful gift that you sent me. It was so thoughtful of you to think of me as I’m sure you had so many things to do while you were visiting.
Blessings always, Betsy

Weather can change so quickly, especially in spring, it seems. Glad you had sunny skies for the remainder of your visit.

I'm enjoying seeing some of your trip in photos. I'm glad you had some sunny weather along with the downpours! I look forward to more photos and stories. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Hi Tammy!

Fun you're back! You seem to have had a nice holiday and have done a lot even if you write that it was a quick trip. It´s always interesting to take part in your traveling around the globe. :)

It has not been a lot of blogging for my part either, but now I have started to photograph a lot again, so I'll start blogging seriously again as well. I think.

Hope you are feeling very good!

I can't believe how far they are behind us here in Central Illinois, but that's also pretty much always the case it seems as our daughters and other family live there and they'll tell us their weather and we will be 90 degrees here. Definitely an entirely different gardening zone!

Love seeing your photos and following along on where you travelled.

I enjoy seeing some of what you saw on your trip, Tammy. The variations of weather wherever we are can certainly be dramatic and downright scary as the downpour was for you. I'm glad you had safe travels and good visits. My youngest son and I stopped at a Tim Hortons [unfamiliar brand to us] one evening while traveling back east a few years ago :-)

I am not the least bit surprised that you went for a walk despite the weather; you have probably experienced much worse back at home. But that rain would be scary to drive in; I had a bad accident in the rain, and it freaks me out now.

Dearest Tammy,
Well, that was quite scary to have such a heavy downpour that you can't see a thing but you were luckier the final days to spend with your relatives!
So happy for you both for having had this chance to meet up.
Hugs,
Mariette
