Oops!

Well, it happened again.
Nearly 2 weeks since my last post.
The good news is that Winter Break has officially begun so I finally have more time on my hands.  Yay!
Today, hubby and I went to a new-to-us Indian restaurant.
The first Moti Mahal opened in Delhi in 1929.
And this branch opened in Kuwait in 2012.
Very good food and nice views, too.
Winter has arrived though for many I guess it is more spring-like.  60s (F) during the day and 40s at night.  We even saw a guy laying out on the beach today with shorts and a t-shirt on.  Concrete buildings with no central heat and no insulation often feel much colder inside than the weather is outside, so I tend to always be cold at home.
Our college boy arrived from Colorado on Tuesday.  It has gotten down to -25 F there so he is thawing out while here.  He says we don't know what cold is and that would certainly be true.
I still cannot get used to it getting dark so early.  Days just aren't long enough for everything I want to do.  But now I'm in holiday mode.  2 weeks off from school. Bliss!
I hope all is well where you are!
Warm wishes,

Hi Tammy! I'm with your son. It's snowing and blowing outside here right at this moment, so 60's on a beach sounds REALLY good!
The Indian restaurant looks very good. Hubby and Alex especially like it and you're right, the view is spectacular. It would be worth going for the view alone. :-) Can you tell I have spring fever?
Enjoy your school break and time with your son. These days go way too fast.
Blessings,
Betsy

I love discovering indian resturants in Cairo, there is one I have been meaning to visit and review, I hope it is as good as your experience.

The weather looks good too! It's still very cold here at night, but during the day it's warming up nicely, today was 18 degrees Celsius.

Lovely looking through the photos you share with us!

Enjoy your time with your family all home together. It is cold and snowy here but it is pretty while it lasts. I too don't seem to get the blogging done that I would like to but I enjoy catching up when I can. Your crocheted trees are fun.

I know you are happy to have your son home. How does he like being in the U.S? So nice to have that long break. Wishing you and your family all the blessings of Christmas. Might try those trees.

I was wondering if your son was going to be able to go home for the holidays. Yay! I am glad. Loved the photos, it looks so lovely. We are having an old fashioned snow storm right now. I am loving it! Have a wonderful vacation. I just started mine today too! Kit

I'll vouch for the -25 degrees. It's been so cold here. 10:30 last night it was -3. I bet you were glad to see him.

I'm behind on my blog, too. It seems to be an illness of the Christmas season - at least for me. Enjoy your vacation, Tammy. And Merry Christmas!!! Diane

Good to hear from you. Glad your son is home for the Holidays. I too find that I get so busy I neglect my blog. I've had a little bug too. So that has slowed me down.

Hi Tammy, I love Indian food. It's a shame that the only Indian restaurant didn't survive very long here. The locals don't enjoy Asian cuisine very much, sigh. I'm glad that my hubby is a very good cook and makes wonderful curry dishes among others.
I'm happy for you that your son came home for the holidays. He must really enjoy the weather. Ours is similar and it's getting warmer over the next days.
Enjoy the winter break and have fun with your family!
Hugs,
Julia

Your weather sounds a lot like the weather here lately. Although, we're supposed to get up to about 70'ish this week. I should give Indian food another try someday. I've had it a couple of times and didn't care for it. Maybe I just went to the wrong restaurant. Have a wonderful weekend!

I love the food pictures! What is in the pretty wooden serving dish in the lower right corner?
Memories...years ago, there was ONE excellent Indian restaurant in a city an hour away from my home. It was run by a large Indian family, and the food was simply wonderful; I made the trip many times. One day, I was told that all the children in the family had now graduated college, so the elder members of the family had closed the restaurant and returned to India! I wonder if I could ever, ever replicate any of the dishes and beverages...I really doubt it!
Enjoy your two weeks off, Tammy...and please say hello to Mr. Jingles for me :)

Oooh, that Indian food looks so good. I wish we had a good Indian restaurant where I live. We need more vegetarian options around here!

Hope you are enjoying your time off. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
