Fine Arts Night

On Tuesday night, our school's Fine Arts Department put on a K-12 Arts Show that was open to the public.  There was artwork on display.

 Choirs, music, singing and drumming.
 Activities for adults and children.
And art in action.
Our high school art teachers came up with a sample piece that they recreated on a huge canvas while everyone watched.
It took them the full 2 hours to complete their work entitled "Engulfed".  A play on words as we are in the Gulf region.  The left side depicts images of the past, a simpler way of life which is engulfed in a huge dust storm from which a more materialistic way of life emerges.
I didn't attend the event last year, but am so glad I did this time.  It certainly was a fabulous night of art and entertainment.

As usual, my days have been very, very busy!
So happy another weekend has arrived.
Best wishes,

I love events like this. My son's school has one coming up the week after next. Thank you for sharing, the kids at your school did an amazing job with their creations.

Wow, it looks like there was a LOT of fun art there! Good for the kids and good for the school to put art as an important part of the kids curriculum. Have a super weekend!

Sounds like a wonderful event. I remember attending the art student's shows when I was teaching. Even bought some of their ceramics (still have them). We attended our granddaughter's 5th & 6th grade orchestra concert on Tuesday evening. She is in 5th grade and learning to play the violin.

Those events are so special to you in years to come. I miss the Christmas programs at my three daughters school and the time I got to join them in the lunchroom. Memories to keep you warm. Diane

It looks like that was a really interesting art show. The canvas "engulfed" is really well done. I, too, miss the holiday programs and all the fun at the kids school. Enjoy while they're young!

I miss going to events like that. I always went to my kid's events and then my daughter is an elementary school art teacher so I got to go to those until I moved here. I really love the country but I miss the cultural parts of the city. What talent those students have and "Engulfed" is a beautiful and meaningful work of art!
