Not What I Had Hoped For

Our first day of Spring Break and this is what we have!
Horrible, awful dust that is to last all weekend.
I will definitely be staying inside.
 Playing with yarn.
And hoping for better weather.
Hope all is well in your corner of the world.
Happy Friday!

How awful Tammy...where does the dust come from?

Tammy, how do you stop that dust coming in inside the house? or do you have special screens to keep it out? does it make people cough a lot? I know when we have bush fires here the smoke in the air makes me cough a lot!

Ohhhhh, so sorry about the dust. That will not make for good walking weather. Hope you enjoy the work with yarn. You are such a wonderful crafter.

Maybe the dust will go away for the weekend?

Take care, Tammy. Susan

We have a few days almost like that here, but that's what I get for living in a desert I guess. LOL We are close to Mexico, in a terrible drought, and in the Wild Horse Desert....so that means I have to search for the beauty in my area. Taking photos, blogging etc. has helped me with that. We live here because it's where my husbands work is. But during those bad days, that's when I stay in, like you, and just create something beautiful of my own. I try to focus on the lovely things in my life, especially at my age. LOL Hope it clears up soon for you. Hve fun with your so pretty yarn.

Hello Tammy, The sand storm looks very awful but hopefully it will pass quickly and you will be able to enjoy the rest of your lovely Spring break. You have some very very lovely Bright and Beautiful Yarns to create with with and I will look forward to seeing what creative project you make. Hugs Judy

It's still snow here but I'm not sure if I prefer that to the dust, must be horrible because I guess it gets in everywhere.
I love the colour combination of the coaster?
Have a good crocheting weekend Tammy

So hope today is better - wish you could take a break and come here where it's just showery, but promising to be a beautiful clear and warm weekend!

Hang in there Tammy and tell that sand to blow back to the desert!

Yikes the last time you posted a photo of a dust storm, I thought surely they must not happen all that often. But, here is another one! What causes the dust storms to happen? I am glad you have some yarn to keep you busy.
Just another reason to keep extra yarn around....never know when there will be a dust storm and you will need it!

Ick! That is a LOT of dust! How do you possibly keep it out of your house? At least you have a plan of action. Yarn. And possibly more yarn if the dust storm lasts very long!

Blessings,
Betsy

Oh ho! Such weather..I can understand your disappointment. But after such days the days of calm and sun come, I believe.
Crochet is the best time pass when staying at home :) see that weather made you to pick up the hook and create!
Have a nice weekend nevertheless!
Hugs,
Anna.

Oh dust again. It's not very funny but you have yarn *smile*. Here the weather is getting better, not so cold at daytime but cold nights. Have a nice weekend.

I complained about our very chilly Spring Break, but not after seeing all that dust. So crochet all day and don't clean because that would not make a lot of sense with all that dust blowing around.
Hugs to you,
Meredith

Well --- that is a dreary dust storm! I hope you are well ensconced inside with to cracks for sand to seep in!

I love your dishrag. It has a comforting, familiar look to it. :D

Dust storms just sound awful! To have all that dust seeping into your house (which I'm sure it must!) and covering everything in fine grit :( Snow is hard enough to deal with, but at least it stays outside. I hope this storm passes quickly for you, but maybe some extra time with the yarn is worth being kept indoors for a little. Wendy

Dearest Tammy,
Sorry for the dust attack again... We always dream about perfect weather for our off time to enjoy outdoors. But we cannot tame mother nature.
Yesterday and today we had rather cool days with rain. Now the sun came out and hope she stays now.
Hugs to you,
Mariette

It's a good thing you have a beloved hobby to pass the time when it's awful outside. We live in mossy green Oregon and never EVER have dust storms. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Hope your dust storm blows over quickly ... it certainly looks menacing and like nothing you'd want to go out in without being in a protective bubble!

Wishing you a better spring break dear Tammy!

I see the yarn and hook are the only viable option until that clears! Hope you're not shrouded in dust for the entire break.
Pretty start you have made.

I knew as soon as I saw your photo, Tammy, it was dust time. Yes you can get a lot of good crochet time in. That was me all those recent cold rainy days into what was supposed to be spring. But me just move on and know things will be better. Blessings

I've never seen dust like that. When we lived up North we had dense, dense fog that it reminded me of.

Hi Tammy,
I'm sorry you have that kind of weather now. :(

After the cool start to spring that we had, I feel like we were more than overdue for wonderful weather, and our Spring Break has delivered it. We enjoyed Galena and the Mississippi River Valley along Illinois and Iowa so very much. We're back home now and still enjoying temps in the 70s which is wonderful for this area. It was sunny, clear blue skies and wonderful all week for our break, and today is the first day with clouds, but the temps are going to be the warmest they've been this spring starting today, so we're happy.

Hope you have a nice break. Monday, the 8th, resumes our regular schedule here, but not for long. Prom is coming up and soon the end of the school year at the end of May. The school year has flown by.

Linda

Ohhhhhhhh - I'm glad it's dust, and not fire, like I originally thought, looking at your photos. Great weekend to stay inside, I agree. Back from a quick trip home and needing to catch up on reading. Hope the dust settles SOON!!! Tanya

OH NO, not the dust storms again. How awful for you! Are dust storms seasonal there or can they happen at any time? Yep, stay indoors...that stuff would not be good for the lungs. xx

It's like a snowstorm except a different color and it's not cold and wet. Good excuse to crochet for sure!
