Christmas at Ikea

When it comes to Christmas shopping and holiday festivity, Ikea is the place to go.

I went there over the weekend for candles and whatever else happened to find its way into my basket.

Also picked up these cute holiday cards.

Ironically, while blog hopping yesterday, I came across a giveaway hosted by Maaike at creJJtion. She bought fabric from Ikea that depicts the same Santa around the world as on the postcard above, and made little pillow ornaments from it. The winner will be drawn on Wednesday, December 7th and will be able to choose which Santa they want.

I'm off to crochet more stockings. Hope you are having a terrific Tuesday!

I LOVE Ikea, but we don't have one anywhere near here. The only ones in Illinois are up near Chicago, in the western suburbs, and that's 2 1/2 hours away or more and we only get up there as a family maybe once a year. Jim, however, works in that area but of course there's no time for shopping then. ;)

Love those star lights.

Christmas is truly right around the corner and even closer for us because our first Christmas celebration is just 11 days away. :)

We don't have an of those stores here either but plenty of other ones. I saw your little stockings below. I have that pattern and like the way yours look. Might give some a try. Good way to use up odds and ends yarn. Enjoy your holiday prep days.
Thanks for all your visits dear sista.

I wish they had an Ikea here, I don't think they even have one in Billings. We're so remote. One blessing, though, if we did I'd be broke all the time I think. Beautiful things, I bet you had a great time shopping there. Again, I love your little stockings. Diane

I love what you found, Tammy! Wish I had an IKEA a bit closer to me...it's a couple of hours away...don't get there very often!

Wishing you a beautiful day, dear friend!

I'm laughing........you live SO far away and went to Ikea. I live in CO and won't drive to Denver to go to Ikea. What a wimp!!!

Those cards are cute. I haven't even looked at any yet, but plan on hitting Target next week, so perhaps will score some there. Seems when we were a young couple, sending out 100 cards was the 'norm'. Now I don't even send 20. Or get 20. Interesting.

It's going to be 58 here today...hardly seems like winter, but that's fine for now. A couple of airport trips will be made in good weather and not snow (which is NOT my fav) so we'll take it for now!

Love those little stockings....are you filling them with 'treats'!?!?!?

Hi Tammy,
How is it that Ikea is full of things we didn't even know we needed and it all piles in the yellow bag and surprises us at the checkout????
Glad you enjoyed your shopping, love it all.
Hugs, Angela.x

I only went to Ikea once with my daughter , up in Dallas where she lives and Dallas is about 8 hours from me, at the opposite end of the state of Texas. I loved it though and would love to go again. There may be one in San Antonio and Houston too, but they are still far away from me. I know you had fun there!

Dearest Tammy,

In The Netherlands we used to have IKEA stores early on. My first visit was to the IKEA near DC with a friend. For several years already we do have one in Atlanta but we don't frequent it that often.
Enjoy your stocking production!
Love to you,

Mariette

I have always wanted to go to Ikea but never have....There is one in Dallas. My daughter and I were always going to go together but never did find the time and now she has moved to Arkansas. She tells me it is an adventure and takes hours to cover the entire store.

The red and white display at IKEA is eye-catching and those Santa ornaments are so cute! I must admit that I'm not a fan of IKEA as it feels like I'm in a maze that takes forever to get out of. lol They do have nice things tho. :)

Love,
Serena xo

I wish Ikea wasn't a five and a half hour drive from me T. This makes me want to hop in the car and see it for myself.

Beautiful shots from IKEA! So fun to see that people all over the world is shopping there. :)I was raised with IKEA not so far from where I lived in Stockholm and bought my first furnitures, teacups etc there once. Now I haven´t been there since I moved from Stockholm almost 5 years ago. But I heard rumours that a city near us is going to get an IKEA! :)
Hope you get a goodnights sleep! Goodnight!

This is so weird...I was almost positive I'd left a comment on this post yesterday. Anywhoo, I had said that I wasn't a fan of IKEA as I always feel like I'm trapped in a maze, however, those red and white displays look fabulous!

Those little Santa ornaments are so cute!

Don't you just love Ikea! I wish we had one near us or on second thought maybe that wouldn't agree with my pocket book. lol I hope you are enjoying the holiday preparations. I still need to buy a tree and start the decorating process. I love this time of year.
Have a wonderful day!
Tammy
