Bentota Day Two

Masala dosa and fresh fruit for breakfast.

Beach time. I was entertained by hermit crabs while the boys swam.

A furry visitor to our balcony.

An afternoon excursion into town.

Hubby commented on how these people have so little and yet seem so happy; while so many in this world have so much yet happiness eludes them.

A trip to the nearest herbal garden where I received treatment for my ankle sprain. Natural oils were massaged onto the area and hot leaves were wrapped and pressed on the ankle.

Another day is done.

...travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living. (Miriam Beard)

Wishing you a peaceful day. Tammy

More beautiful photos, what a wonderful vacation in spite of the sprained ankle! The market is so interesting, yep, wish I was there! Did the ankle treatment really help?

Hi Tammy.....Did the herbal technique work? Same in Central America....people are so poor yet happy. That says something, doesn't it? Susan

Dearest Tammy,

Your husband is a very keen observer: people have so little and yet seem so happy; while so many in this world have so much yet happiness eludes them.
That is so true. It always puzzled us when we worked in South India (Tamil Nadu) or in Indonesia. They smile constantly and there is no comparison to what they HAVE in the west and never seem to be content.
Glad you found some herbal relief for your ankle.
Love to you,

Mariette

What a lovely post. I had a good laugh at your wreath story on my blog. Have a great week-end.

Your hubby's observation is so true which proves that money can't buy happiness. We could learn a lot from native cultures.

Again, I enjoyed seeing your photos. I hope the ankle therapy helped a bit.

Happy Sunday,
Serena xo

What a wise thing for your husband to say. Your treatment for your ankle sounds very luxurious, it had to help. That's a cute squirrel (it IS a squirrel, isn't it?). Interesting to see another part of the world through your eyes. Diane

Your ankle must feel better after that special attention. I like the quote very much about traveling is so much more than seeing the sights. Enjoy your adventures...

Hope your ankle is healing. Your trip looks wonderful. Beach is lovely. Did the wrap help the ankle?
We arrived home this afternoon. The weather is much cooler than when we left 5 weeks ago. My son did a great job of visiting each week to water my flower bed. They flowers are beautiful. Nice to be home but had a wonderful relaxing time in the country.
Now it's time to get back to reality and prepare for DH's thyroid surgery on the 22nd.

So sorry to hear about your ankle, Tammy! And sorry I haven't been by for a few days...haven't had much blog visiting time lately...I'm catching up!

Looks like your trip was lovely--so exotic! You're right...having things happen to you when you're away from home just makes it a bit worse, doesn't it?! So glad you're back to the comforts of home...keep that foot up, my friend!

Wishing you a speedy recovery and a beautiful, restful day, dear friend...

I have a friend on Sri Lanka. He even visited me for a week when he had a businesstrip to Stockholm. We´ve known each other from internet now for 7 years.
