Thursday's Simple Pleasures

Early morning birdsong.

Blue skies are back.

After several days of dust, the clean up is certainly not a pleasure, but absolutely necessary if I want to invite the outdoors in.

A visitor stopping by for breakfast.

Coffee, orange ginger marmalade on toast with cheese and a new doily just off the hook.

Our Joy comes from living our own lives simply and gratefully -
never from making any demands whatsoever upon others.

Hi Tammy...Was that Jingles who wanted to join you for breakfast? Soooo sweet. It's true that gratitude makes like even more precious. Susan

Ah, Tammy ... this post (and that quote at the end) filled me with a sense of calm. It's amazing how even though our outer world may be hectic, we can still have inner calm, just by recognizing the simple things in life.

Simple pleasures indeed. These all look like delightful pleasures. Life's what you make it. If I came to visit you Jingles would be a most welcome guest on my lap. However, I've found that if a cat thinks you want to pet him he'll get snooty. But if you hate cats (like some people who could never be my friends) they're all over you. Have a wonderful day Tammy. It all looks wonderful. I'm welcoming the blue skies too!

And now, I am really craving a piece of toast. This is the second simple pleasure to mention it. This one did me in since marmalade is my topping of choice.

Simply, pleasurable!

Seems we both were eating toast with yummy toppings today. That ginger marmalade sounds heavenly.... and your doily 'just off the hook' makes a very pretty background.

Lovely to meet a new friend who loves the simple pleasures in life.

Here's wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places.

Glad you are seeing blue skies today. We have had a lot of dust too, so not surprised to hear that it is invading Kuwait too!! It is getting HOT here. It was 41 this morning. YIKES!! Your birds looks too happy to be visiting you! Hope they are not teasing Jingles too much!!

Love ya,
Renee
