A Quiet Morning

I love nothing more than a peaceful start to my day. Hubby is a morning person and loves nothing more than waking us up bright and early on Friday morning (our weekends are Friday and Saturday). He does the same thing when we are away on vacation.

This morning he watched incredulously as I crafted envelopes from a Pottery Barn Kids catalogue. Since he owns a paper company and imports envelopes from Spain, he thinks I am crazy to sit here with glue and ripped pages from magazines making them when he can bring home envelopes any time. I told him he could set me up a small spot in his office and I could make envelopes for him all day long. :)

The blue skies of yesterday disappeared around 5 o'clock in the evening and gray skies took their place. We had just a little splash of rain with a bit of thunder for dramatic effect.

My quiet morning includes a Parade of Homes hosted by Poppies at Play. I have only gotten through house number 4 on the tour and all I can say is WOW! If you love peeking into the homes of others, then you have to take the tour.

Have a fabulous Friday! Friendship blessings, Tammy

Morning Tammy!
Still in my pj's, reading your post, thinking, she makes envelopes? really? How cool! I've seen this before somewhere, but how does it work? The page isn't strong enough right? or do you use double pages? Would like to know how it works (another post topic perhaps?)
thanks for the link, will go and have a look, always in for a peep in houses!
Have a good weekend!
Maureen
(and your comment on the knitting made me laugh outloud!)

I love that you are having a quiet morning. Funny that you mentioned how early Sam gets up. Omar was up at 4AM this morning... Not me!! I have a mental image of you making envelopes and the look on Sam's face as he watches you. He, he!! I am sure these husbands of our don't get our need to be quiet and crafty.
Enjoy your house hunting!!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!!

Love,
Renee

I am a morning person! Have you become one by living with a morning person?! I believe that waking up early has many, many advantages. Or it could be just us morning people ;o)
I am heading over to the Parade of Homes! I love to see the imagination and creativity of homes. Maybe I can get ideas or tips!
Have a glorious weekend!...still one day to go here, but hey!, it's the last one before a hopefully fantastic one!

I am an early riser too. And the ONLY one up! Even my dog Sissie is still in bed! Which is nice, I get the couple hours to myself with no one sitting there staring at me (Sissie wants breakfast right away):)
I checked out the tour of the homes. Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Sonya

What a wonderful way to start your morning. We are early risers as well and I always feel better for some reason more time to spend with my hubby I guess. Love that you make little envelopes how cute is that. Happy weekend

Love the envelopes! I can see why hubby was astounded. They are so precious!
I have a passion for stationery (and bed linens and towels) so my ears perked up when I heard your hubby is in the business of correspondence! There is something heartwarming about getting a handwritten letter in the mail on georgeous papers inside a beautiful envelope. Call me old fashioned!

Glad your break was relaxing. Have a great week and I hope the sun is shining on you today!

Hugs

Dearest Tammy,

My husband is also a morning person. I was all my life and when we lived in Indonesia our days started with waking up at 5:00 AM... tropical schedule and I never had a problem with that. Now, especially with blogging, my writing gets done after supper and it is getting late soon with all the photo editing, research etc. But I enjoy it.
Folding such envelopes is quite different than those from the store... Unique one of a kind things!

Enjoy your weekend.

I can't wait to take the home tour...how fun!
My husband wakes up around 5:30 or 6:30 every day....no alarm clock needed (that includes weekends and vacations) ugh!!

I love your envelopes, Tammy! I remember making envelopes from gift wrap paper for Michelle's hand-crafted wedding invitations. They were an odd size hence me having to make the envelopes and I felt very pleased with myself afterwards.

I'm definitely a morning person too. I love getting up early when the household is all quiet...a special time for me.

Thanks for the link to the home tour!

Tammy - there you are with those fabulous envelopes again! I seriously want to make those - can you provide a tutorial for those of us who are "crafting" challenged? You just do the neatest things with your crafts!!
