Friday Finishes and Saturday Pinks

All eyes were on London yesterday for the Royal Wedding. Whether you wanted to watch it or not, coverage was on every station so it was hard to miss. And now after all the hoopla, it is a part of history. Why does the world feel the need to judge it so? I don't quite understand.

Yesterday was a much enjoyed pajama day. Along with cleaning, crochet was on the agenda and baby boy blanket is finally done.

The last sugar cookie was eaten.

Baby girl blanket is complete with border.

And one little moss rose decided to bloom to brighten my day.

Besides coverage of the wedding, there was also the devastating news coming out of Tuscaloosa, Alabama where I lived for a year in the late 80's. A tornado also touched down in Jones County MS which is where my brother lives. It seems that the tornadoes this spring season will make the record books. The soul would have no rainbow had the eyes no tears. ~John Vance Cheney

I pray for rainbows after the storms. Friendship blessings, Tammy

Looks like you had a nice day enjoying your crochet work. I watched the wedding, I love the romance of it all, it seems so fairytale(ish) although I wouldn't want to live my life in the spot light. Enjoy your weekend. :-)

Hi Tammy, The royal wedding I remembered with nostalgia to that of her mother Dianna. This had its analogies with that of their parents, for my stay beautiful! I love the crochet, I think it's an art to be learned, you used the colors that I love, you are very skilled with the needle! hugs, Rose Marie

Hi Tammy, I watched part of the wedding yesterday and the rest this evening. It really was fabulous.
I love pyjama days, I get so much more done.
The news about the devastating tornadoes is terrible, my thoughts go out to all those that have been affected.

I was happy to see some of the royal wedding coverage to take my mind off the horror of the tornado news. It's just unimaginable. As you know, we have our share of tornado warnings here in Illinois as well and they petrify me. We drove right through that beautiful part of Alabama, just a little over a month ago and I remarked how lovely of an area it is. How unfortunate and sad.

Liked reading your update because you always have something entirely different than me, going on. Friday here of course is a normal work day, so no pjs. It was a busy day, we hosted a party last night with friends - our first cookout of the spring/summer season and it was lovely.

Today, is my Mom's 81st Birthday and we're going out for steak lunch/dinner, compliments of my Dad. Last night was a sleepover here, Sarah and one of her longtime friends (who happens to be a boy, but no worries because they are just friends and his interest is in boys instead of girls). She and Alex have been friends since they were babies and his parents and us are good friends.

Hope your weekend is going really well. It's a beautiful, sunny day here in the 70s.
Linda

So nice to see that people across the world enjoyed the wedding. We certainly put on a great show and the atmosphere here in the UK was amazing.
Love your blanket and as usual the cookies look delicious.
I'm thinking of all those affected by those storms it's unimaginable.

Those storms were awful....our daughter and family live north of Montgomery (we lived there in the late 80's) and it missed them. Too scary, for sure.

The baby blankets are beautiful....you crochet so beautifully. How many cookies did you eat while you were working on them?????

I changed my email and you are supposed to get a msg noting it. Just change it from YAHOO to AOL.com and you've got it!

Yes, the Royal Wedding. They were happy and in love and beautiful. I didn't watch it but caught up with it on the web.

Sorry to hear the dust is still with you. We're trying to get the warm weather to stick around here. They predicted snow today but the suns out and it's warming up. The birdies are in the bath and eating seeds, chirping. Makes me smile!

Have a good weekend. Are you headed to the US?

Hugs
Jan

I can sure identify with this on so many levels ... specially the "pj" day :)
Yes, I watched The Wedding in "real time" -- w/ a sense of "Camelot" ... 30 years before, what might have been.
We've so much to be thankful for. My son and his family are just east of Montgomery, AL; too close for this mom's comfort level!
Have a wonderful day!

Tammy, I have been so heavy hearted with the news of the devastating tornadoes. It is inconceivable that so many could have been killed. I am so glad your brother is okay. Your baby blankets turned out beautifully. Have a nice weekend, my friend. Twyla

Your baby blankets are beautiful. I know some little baby boy and girl will treasure them for a lifetime. (Both my boys loved their crocheted blankets and treasured them in adulthood.) The news from the South continues to amaze me. All that destruction. As I watched the nightly news yesterday, I sat there crying. Can't imagine what they are going through now and into the future.

Yes, there was wedding craze here too. I went to the pool that night and there was a huge group of people having a party with an England flag hanging on the wall. HA! They were very happy, so no doubt it was a fun day for them. I love that your pajama day was so enjoyable. The afghans look wonderful, as always. Is one of them Elena's? I can't remember if you gave it to her already. We made more cookies here yesterday. I hope you can find agave nectar to try them. My boys were not very happy this morning going back to school after two weeks off. Lunch did not hold the same excitement as I packed them healthy cookies instead of granola bars. HA! They will get over it!!
Hope your brother did not suffer much damage from the tornados. The pictures look awful.

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!!!

XOXO
Renee

I agree with your statement --- why do people feel they have to judge the royal wedding. I enjoyed it for exactly as it was. For me, that meant getting up in the wee hours of the morning and working hard to keep my eyes open for 3 1/2 hours to watch it live! Kate was so beautiful, wasn't she?

The tornadoes are horrendous. My sister lives in Vilonia the little town in Arkansas that was hit, they're still without power!

I loved watching the Royal Wedding, how amazing that it was on all your tv channels too. It really does seem to have had global appeal.

The baby blankets are gorgeous and I hope your dust goes away soon, you must be really fed up of it! Kathleen.

I did not get the chance to watch the Royal wedding but did make sure I saw the beautiful bride in her beautiful dress. Love the baby afghans! The devastation from the tornadoes was sad to see. We know people in some of those areas but none were directly affected. Have a great week.

YOUR BABY BLANKETS ARE LOVELY,
PRETTY COLORS, AND SO DAINTY.
HEATHER, FROM SIMPLY HANDMADE BY HEATHER.....LIVES IN ALABAMA. SHE HAS NO ELECTRICITY, TWO FOOD STORES JUST OPENED BACK UP, ALONG WITH TWO GAS STATIONS, AND THE LINES ARE HORRIBLE. GO TO MY SIDEBAR, YOU CAN PULL HER UP IF YOU WANT. TAKE CARE
