While on the road this summer, I crocheted lots of dishcloths.
Lots and lots of dishcloths because they didn't require a lot of thought and could be picked up and put down with ease.
I might have even had a little something refreshing to drink while sitting in a hotel room and crocheting. :)
Since returning home and jumping right back into work, I've not had a lot of time for crochet, but was getting the itch to try something new.
The pattern is called Starry Flower Coaster and can be found on Pradeepa's blog, The Lazy Hobbyhopper. I did two things wrong (or different, depending on how you look at it) but I think my first starry flower coaster turned out just fine.
A second is almost finished with more to come.
Wishing you all a great week!
Very pretty coaster! And the washcloths, too. I sometimes knit washcloths to test a stitch pattern, but haven;t done it in quite a while...those cotton washcloths last forever!
ReplyDeleteBet your kitty is glad you're back home. :)
Your dishcloths are so pretty Tammy and I like the star coaster too, I'm thinking they would look good as Christmas coasters if they were done in Christmassy colours you've got me thinking now :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful dishcloths! You can never have too many as they make wonderful little last minute gifts. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour coaster is lovely. The pattern is pretty and whatever you did different, it looks great.
Blessings,
Betsy
What a great lot of wash cloths you've made! You can never go wrong with having lots of those. I'm glad you had some crafty stuff with you on your trip.. did you find any rocks to bring home? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteThe humble washcloth, well worthy of becoming something pretty as well as practical. You've sure made some pretty cloths :) I want to also say that I always like the backgrounds you often use for your photos ... exotic fabrics, carpets(?) and what looks like inlaid furniture ... such a nice touch. Your new coasters are really cute, and I can see they'd become addictive! Enjoy your week Tammy! Wendy x
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you back, Tammy - I hope your travels were pleasant, and that your son is settling in well at school (Colorado, wasn't it?). Those dishcloths are awfully pretty - I like that kind of starry cluster stitch you used in some of them.
ReplyDeleteLovely coaster! :)
How diligent you are. The stars work great and I can see on your pictures how to crochet them.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Dearest Tammy,
ReplyDeleteyou have been very busy! I like your dishcloths very much - in fact, you could even turn it into a patchwork quilt! That would certainly be pretty !

Dearest Tammy,
ReplyDeleteOh I used to crochet constantly on the plane, in the hotel and everywhere we traveled. Not anymore. My eyes need some rest too.
Enjoy your work; you are still a lot younger!

ReplyDeleteNice table cloths :)
ReplyDeleteI had accumulated a lot of cotton yarn at one point and still have quite a bit left. So I have been making wash cloths out of it and love making them. As you said its a great "on the go" project.

Crocheted dishcloths are the best! Love your colors and patterns! Thanks for sharing the coaster pattern!
ReplyDeleteI consider myself so lucky to be the recipient of one of those crocheted lovelies this summer. Again thank you. The star coaster is so cute. Most of my crochet is straight lines. I'm not that great with circles!
ReplyDeleteI love that you made it your own with a new design alteration! You can never have enough dishcloths..such great gifts they make.

Well, I haven't conquered crocheting yet, but Tammy, I've been on a roll knitting dishcloths in every color. Been giving them away right and left, such fun.
