Textile Meeting

There were 5 of us at the Textile meeting Wednesday night, hosted by one of our members. We gathered around the dining table with all our supplies and sustenance for the evening.

Our task was to test a crochet pattern that will possibly be used to make and donate afghans to patients of the senior citizen home.

Since the 4 other ladies are all knitters, I was the only one who actually finished a square ... and learned a different way to do a granny.

The wise learn from the experience of others, and the creative know how to make a crumb of experience go a long way. (Eric Hoffer)

At the beginning of each meeting, we have show-n-tell for projects we've been working on at home. I showed them my mini stockings and a couple of the ladies showed off the cutest and funniest knitted items I've ever seen.

How about sausage, fries, egg and a slice of bacon for breakfast? Don't forget the peas.

Or if you are more health conscious, how about an apple or a pear?

Accessories for Christmas.

Frosty the Snowman.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Angels we have heard on high.

These pretty flowers will bloom in your home all year round.

It was a fun couple of hours of creative companionship.

Happy December everyone!

  1. I thought the egg, sausage and chips were cat play toys at first, if you added a bit of cat nip I'm sure Jingle would love these.

  4. Look at all the fun stuff you gals made. What a great event. I sure wish I had some friend like that in my neighborhood. Most don't get me here....lol. So, nice to see you are getting those grannies. If I remember correctly you were a little scared of them before. Can't wait to see what you create now that you have them done.

  31. What a fun meeting that turned out to be!! I am sure it was a bunch of fun to see what other creative minds can do. I went to stitch group last week for the first time since coming back to Doha from summer vacation. There are a few ladies there who quilt, and their projects are amazing. I wish I had the patience, but I know that will never be the case with me.
Your granny square is perfect. Really nice!!!!

    XOXO
