Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Yesterday our internet connection was so very slow. But I was able to browse some of my favorite blogs and came across a snowflake square pattern posted by Marilyn at Room on the Left. Since I just happened to have some red and white yarn sitting next to me, I decided to give it a go.

Yea! My first attempt was a success. Marilyn's post was titled "Just Do It" and I did!

I also came across a crochet snowflake garland while at Claudia's Mockingbird Hill Cottage, so immediately started making some snowflakes from her pattern. No garland yet, just the snowflakes. And proof that no two snowflakes are alike.

And since we have a theme going on here, I thought I would show you these snowflakes that I made last weekend from a pattern found at Attic 24. She blocked hers to get nice points, but I think they are fine just the way they are.

Obviously this is the only kinda snow we are going to be getting around here.

    How lovely that you are able to create your own snow. No snow for us yet but a very chilly night tonight. Have the fireplace going to ward off the chill. My hubby and I were just wishing we were someplace a little warmer.

    You're doing a great job with your crocheted snowflakes. I just love these :) I have some my mom made when I was a teen. She used a thick string instead of yarn, and stiffened them with something. I still pull them out every year :)

    Those are lovely. :) I made snowflakes of a different sort - paper. But that's another story and I won't be sharing it yet because it involves just one of the many surprises in store for Sarah's big Sweet 16 Birthday surprise. That's all that will be on my mind for this entire week and the surprises begin on Friday, the 9th, and lasting right through the entire weekend. :)

    I love your snowflakes. A full blanket of them, maybe mixing in different colour edgings, would look amazing. Maybe you could make one in time for next Christmas? Maybe even I could if I tried!

    It is certainly that time of the year. We had a number of villas put up Christmas lights as soon as Thanksgiving was over, and now there are lights in almost every house. Your snow flakes are wonderful. I can't wait to see the garland when it is done. I am sure it will look perfect on your tree.
    Nice to know that you are having time to sit and enjoy the season!!
