Simple Pleasures

A quiet morning ...

Clouds (we don't often see them in the summertime) ...

Satisfying a sweet tooth ... thumbprint cookies ...

soft cocoa cookies (more cake-like than cookie).

Lazy days of summer ...

Crochet to pass the time ... a project completed ...

I'm joining Dayle at A Collection of This and That!
Project Simple Pleasures2

Happiness consists more in the small conveniences of pleasures that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man in the course of his life.” (Benjamin Franklin)

Have a great day! Friendship blessings, Tammy

  3. I love the photo of clouds in a blue sky... it has been raining here for about a week now. I am ready for a spot of sunshine. :) Your cookies look wonderfully delicious... and the song you have playing - mmmm. Takes me back and makes me take a deep breath. Thank you. :)
Glad you stopped by my little piece of cyber space.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  4. LOVE that pillow, especially layered over more crochet! The flower is perfect. You might need to do a little tutorial on this one. ;) I'm just sayin'! Photos of the cookies makes me drool... I'm trying to stay away from sweets... oh, it is tough. The cup of tea, cookies and yarn make me smile. A great way to spend a little time. blessings ~ tanna

p.s. You asked about the crayons with the embroidery. Yep, I just use good ole' Crayolas or any brand you want. Color on a hard surface & give the depth of color you want. Then you iron it to set without a steam setting. It will fade some with washings but I hesitate to wash this type of embroidery a lot! Good Luck & let me know if you have anymore questions.....

  11. Morning T,
Nice to hear from you and to visit with you.
Loved your list of simple pleasures, they are all so true. I was mowing the lawn on the tractor last night and just looking up at the clouds and enjoying them so much. The Lord does some amazing handiwork doesn't he??
That is neat you are resting....I believe resting is a very good thing, sometimes we just get too darn busy to hear from God, and
that is just not a good thing.
Our summers have always been laid back and restful as well, loved having my kiddos home,
course, they are all grown up now......soon to
be 27 and 34!! How the time does fly!
    Enjoyed my visit,
    Blessings for a great day,
    Nellie

  24. Dearest Tammy,

What a feast and it's great to see that you keep yourself busy with fun projects.
    Benjamin Franklin was SO right!
We are burning up with RealFeel of 44°C or 107°F... Poor plants. No wonder that we have no vases with roses this year!

    Lots of love,

  40. Loved your story...one kever knows where their lives will take them. I ended up marrying a Zimbabwean. But we lived in Central America for 14 years and then Africa before coming back to the US> As I grew up also in Africa, it is hard getting used to living in the US.
No, never been to India before. I'll have to look for your post on it.
Now you know why your blog fascinates me....I love culture, travel, market places.........
