Day Two in Toronto

Early morning was spent with coffee in hand enjoying squirrel acrobats in my BILs backyard.
The weather was lovely and cool so hubby and I headed out for a walk before we went to his sister's for the day.
Daffodils are definitely something we don't see in Kuwait.
 Moon spotting.
We had a late breakfast with the family where we mostly sat and talked for many hours.
So on the way home that afternoon, my BIL dropped me and his wife off  at a park close to where they live so we could stretch our legs and walk the rest of the way to the house.
Sights along the way.

I was happy the weather was better and they were happy that winter had at long last released its grip on them.
Have a beautiful day wherever you are in the world.

First Stops

As I mentioned in my previous post, our first stop on our recent trip was to Canada.
Our first morning in Toronto was a very foggy, drippy one after days of rain.
It was also chilly, but that didn't stop me from taking a morning walk (much needed after so many hours on a plane the day before).
Everyone said that Spring was several weeks late because of the frigid winter, but there were definitely signs of it finally springing forth.
I think we actually experienced several seasons that first day.
You can see in these two pictures, taken not more than 30 minutes apart, that the weather kept changing.
The scariest part was the drive home later in the day when there was a moment or two that we couldn't see a thing.
Another first stop on that first morning was Tim Horton's which is my brother-in-law and his wife's favorite place for coffee.
Thankfully, after that first crazy weather day, we had beautiful weather for visiting family and were able to also take a hike and visit a botanical garden.

But I'll save that for another time.

Best wishes,

Hello there!

My very long blog break was very much unintended.  Part of it was just lack of motivation.
But more recently it was because of a trip to Canada and Colorado.
My husband has two sisters and a brother in the Toronto area that he had not seen in many years so we spent 4 days of quality time with them.
We then flew off to Denver where we explored for a couple of days.
And finally, the whole purpose for our trip. was driving to Alamosa to attend our eldest son's college graduation.
We were only able to spend a few days with  him as he was in the process of moving, but I'm happy that we were able to be there, even if it was a very quick trip.

This past Sunday, we drove back to Denver and stayed overnight.  Our very long journey back to Kuwait started on Monday, consisted of three flights and a nearly 12 hour layover in London.  But things never go smoothly when flying and on top of that, I received a message from my brother that my mom had fallen and broken her hip.

Since we were already in transit, there wasn't much I could do except try to get a connection each time we landed so I could find out what was going on.  We arrived back in Kuwait early Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, my mom had a partial hip replacement and this coming Monday she's being transferred to a VA Hospital where she will receive rehabilitation.  The problem is she has major arthritis in her knees which was what contributed to her fall in the first place.  (Her knees are the reason she wouldn't fly to Denver to meet us so she could attend the graduation.)

I'm hoping she'll have a speedy recovery, but if I feel like she needs more assistance, then I may need to go back to spend time with her.

So, that's where we're at for the moment.
Just wanted to say a quick hello!

I'll share more of our trip in the coming days.

Best wishes,
