Palms

 In an effort to use what I've got, I'm finding cross-stitch patterns that fit frames I have on hand.

A recent finish is this Palestinian embroidery design from Gaza that symbolizes palm trees.
The pattern can be found in the digital library of Tirazain.

    Beautiful stitching! We have Queen palms, Date palms and Sabal palms as our most common ones--I saw some in our pics!

    The palm trees are interesting. A lovely piece and the frame is perfect to enhance but not detract from your stitching. I used to cross-stitch but find it hard on my eyes now - bought a magnifying to hang around my neck but it's rather cumbersome and annoying!

    That's a great approach to framing! I've got several paintings and prints that aren't "standard US" sizes and I've been putting off having them professionally framed because there's not a local shop anymore. But it's a shame, because the artwork that I chose so carefully currently just lives in a box.

    Congrats on finishing your project. The frame color is perfect! You couldn't have found a frame more suited to showcase your cross stitch. Fun to see the stitching along side the photo's.

    Lovely photos! They make me nostalgic for Southern California, where we had palm trees all over the place when I was growing up. The cross stitch pattern is lovely too - very evocative.
