Five on Friday: 5 from 1

My husband asked me to go for an early morning ride with him so he could check on some things in his warehouse.  Located in the industrial area, it's not exactly a pretty spot, so it's always nice to spy a bit of green.  After he did what he needed to do, we stopped for chapati and chai which gave me a chance to start a dishcloth with some cotton yarn gifted to me this summer by my good friend Val at YarniGras.  And on the way home, we stopped at the souq to buy a clay bowl to hold water for the kitty we feed downstairs plus I picked up several baskets just because.

I spotted this dirty car window art as we were driving along and made my husband turn around and go back so I could get a picture of it.
Since our morning outing, I managed to completely use up that skein of yarn.
Two dishcloths, two pumpkin coasters and a teeny pumpkin motif is the result.  That little strand on the right is all that was left.  Pretty darn good use of yarn I'd say.

Happy October!

  1. That's so funny about the art on the car window but kind of cool too. That's a whole lot of dirt! ;)

It's once again in the 40s here this morning, way way too cold, too early for this. Apparently we're way under normal temps again. Hopefully things will warm up a bit here sometime in October. At least we have pretty, clear blue skies again though along with the brutally cold wind.

Heading off on a weekend adventure here, yet again - off to Indiana in the P. to visit with friends. It seems that every weekend is full of plans - nothing productive gets done, but that's okay because we're having fun together.

    Have a nice weekend,
    Linda

  5. I would say that is a very good use of one skein of yarn. Such an itty bitty piece leftover. Goodness, that car is really dirty. You must have had another dust storm? I would love to visit a souk. When I see pictures, they remind me of a big outdoor/indoor flea market. I hope your weekend is a lovely one Tammy.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  26. What a beautiful little shop for the clay bowl. Such lovely colours and rustic feel. I had to smile at the car window, it's more original than 'clean me!'. Have a great weekend xx

  27. Well done on the use of that pretty yarn. I hope you put that wee speck that was left out on the balcony for the birds.

  28. Wow! You're a whiz at not having any leftovers when you are done a project! And all in one outing? I am impressed. My students bring Chapatti to school daily for lunch. One of the boys eats it with cinnamon and sugar everyday and I have to say, I'm a little bit jealous!

  32. Wow, Tammy - excellent use of yarn! I especially love your pumpkin coasters. And it made me smile to see that very familiar ballband in such exotic (to me) surroundings.
And now I am craving freshly-made chapati!
