You and the Moon

That's what my husband says to me when I start looking up at the afternoon or evening sky and then run or reach for my camera.
You and the Moon!
All of the above photos were taken on Friday when we were out at Khiran Resort (close to the Saudi border) visiting friends at their holiday chalet.

And, of course, there were lots of moon photos taken while traveling this summer.
Moon over New Orleans.
Moon over Alamosa, Colorado.
Moon over Moab, Utah.
Moon over Salt Lake City, Utah.
Then there was last night's full moon here in Kuwait.
And because my husband knows I love the moon so much, he woke me up this morning to see the eclipse.
“The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human.
Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.”

Have a blessed week.

  1. Lucky you! It was cloudy and misting rain last night, so we didn't get to see 'The Blood Moon'. I'm so disappointed. Glad you got a shot of it.

  2. He is a keeper! I was notable to see the moon here last night because of clouds, and it is pretty cloud today so not sure it will be available tonight. But you know I share your fascination with it.
    Hugs to you,

  4. Love the moon as well. Last night it was a wonderful event for us here since the blood moon occurred between 8:10 - 10:30 p.m. central time. A perfect, warm, lovely evening in our backyard with special drinks and cookies that I made to commemorate the night, telescopes all set up with our cameras, and family and good friends to help celebrate the momentous occasion.

    Have a beautiful week,
    Linda

  13. I love all your beautiful pictures of the moon, Tammy. I love to see it in all its different phases, and often find myself looking out of the window to observe it....my photos of it are not that great though!
    Have a great week.

  14. I love looking at the moon too, but don't get good photos of it with my camera. Whenever we go camping up north in the fall, we have to leave at night (and it's dark by 7:30). Most times the moon is bright and silvery and follows us up the long 4-hour drive. The clouds drift past it, but it follows us all the way up and tucks us in on arrival at the campground. Your photo of the moon over Salt Lake City is how it looks on our drive :) There's something comforting about having the moon follow you along.

  15. I have the same love for the moon. I didn't always have it, but 2 1/2 years ago, as I woke up in the hospital after my cancer surgery, outside my window was the waxing crescent moon. And he kept me company all nite long. I felt so comforted and ever since, I just love my new BFF. :) Kit
