Towels Take Two

I discovered a lovely new blog called Sanna & Sania.
And while browsing through some of their older posts, I came across this one that featured a bathroom towel.
So in addition to the crocheted borders I've been making,
I'm now doing tiny granny square borders.
My first one was finished yesterday in blue and white.
Squares in two rounds that are crocheted together and stitched on using the same cotton yarn.
So sweet.  So quick and easy.
My mom's birthday is today so I called her this afternoon to wish her a happy birthday.
This picture was taken 2 years ago on my Uncle Danny's front porch in Ohio.  Aren't those flowers gorgeous!
Aunt Kathi on the left is the one who was recently in a car accident.  She's now been moved to a rehabilitation center.  My mom is in the middle.  And Aunt Elaine is on the right (she has her own blog called At Home With Elaine.)

Back to crocheting more grannies and lots of other things.
Have a great day!

  1. Tammy, thank you for sharing these towels, they are ahhhdorable! I bought a "how to crochet" kit a few weeks ago, just so I could learn to make borders for things like this! Lord knows I have the yarn from all my knitting, and I did learn to crochet when I was young, so I must do this! Love your blog too...I'm your newest follower. Thanks for visiting me! 11. I have crocheted edgings on towels in the past but have not tried the granny square edging. Thanks for sharing the idea. I am not completing many projects or doing much blogging. I am working tonight, movies in the park, we take our bookmobile there, it should be fun. I hope your mom had a great birthday.

  27. Happy Birthday shoutout to your Mom. Glad to hear your Aunt is on the road to recovery and that her rehabilitation helps her to recover faster. I wish I had time to watch Olympics. I used to love gymnastics. Just not a tv person anymore. I'm sure there are going to be alot of happy people when you go back to work. Your little creations are going to be a big hit and I'm sure you'll have a delicious treat inside for them to enjoy.
Oh yeah, I have some banana bread for you that I'll drop by later. It's not the healthiest version but its darn good;)

  31. Happy Birthday to your Mom! I hope your Aunt is going to be okay? What a lovely picture and I didn't know the woman that comments on your blog was your Aunt! Isn't it great to have the internet and stay in touch? Years ago it was snail mail and that was it.
I love your towels...they're gorgeous! I've never seen one with Granny squares...how cute is that?
That edging for towels and pillowcases is on "my list" but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
    I love them!
